Probably some bad sector. Go in sector mode and look at the area. Are there any sector that doesn't look right when highlighted? Like some of its sides aren't getting highlighted, or some sides of another sector are getting highlighted? You should be able to fix that with the "make sector" mode IIRC.

I've gotten this issue before when moving a linedef into a place it doesnt like, or deleting something it doesnt like deleting. Try making a new sector from that shape, then merge the sectors and try that.

I've encountered this problem way too many times. I was told it was a node-builder problem. Apparently going into node view and then moving some related vertices and lines around does the trick. As for why it happens, how it happens and what's the actual way to fix it? No idea. Move vertices randomly?

Spoiler

Also, one time I tried placing a vertex in the problematic area and it caused an error message. No idea what's that about.

Here's the link to an old thread regarding a similar issue:

Welp, looks like the problem fixed itself somehow. Oke then.

Thanks anyway, guys!
