Kontra Kommando Posted June 24, 2017 I'm not sure what the issue is, but there's an error popping up when I load of the game. I have my PC set up to a flat screen TV. I'm not sure how to properly configure it to allow music to work properly. 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted June 24, 2017 What version are you using and what error do you get? 0 Share this post Link to post
Kontra Kommando Posted June 24, 2017 gzdoom 2.3.0.0 Perhaps its time to upgrade. Other than that orange text about the OpenAL Soft, that's it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kontra Kommando Posted June 24, 2017 Okay, so I got it to work. I had to change the output format to default. Before that, I changed the sound backend to fmod ex No more orange text in the loading window. 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted June 24, 2017 The orange text is not an error, it's just part of OpenAL's init message. 1 Share this post Link to post
Maisth Posted June 24, 2017 Only happens in GZDoom? or any other Source port? 0 Share this post Link to post
KVELLER Posted June 24, 2017 OpenAL Soft seems to be buggy in versions prior to the removal of FMOD EX 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted June 24, 2017 The problem was not OpenAL but setting the MIDI playback device to 'sound system'. On FMod it uses FMod's synth, on OpenAL it has to fall back to Windows's native MIDI synth - which is quite a bit broken. That's why GZDoom 3.1.0 includes a sound font so that it can use FluidSynth as its default MIDI player. 1 Share this post Link to post
