i'm a politically correct socialist tree hugger and i made a level where you can blow up elon musk's brain. I read slight political comment into that Italo Doom level with the title about corrupt dead cops, or something, but maybe it was done entirely to make fun of the naievity of making a political statement with the title of a doom level. like the ultimate tweet.

 

edit: an obvious problem with professing to be "anti-political" is that you end up reflecting and even encouraging the worst tendencies of default mannist society when you claim that the intrigues of politics aren't affecting you, cos they are affecting you. but blah blah blah

Let alone that the concept of "Leftist" can be very different in different countries. Even Obama at his "leftiest" phase, would be considered a hard-core right-wing neolibertarian, if compared e.g. to Greece's Tsipras or even the last right-wing government we had. The US Democratic party as a whole wouldn't rank much better than "moderate Right" if it was to compete in Greek elections.

 

And let's not even touch the ambiguity of terms like "liberal": in Greece they almost always associated with NWO, economical liberalism etc. so someone self-describing as "liberal" won't get many "Leftie" points here. The word you're looking for is "progressive", "cultured" etc. ;-)

In a way, it's ironic that a game centered on guns and violence seems to attract mostly players with political views that reject either.

People are generally too complex to be 100% left or 100% right. What is happening is that there's too much data on the internet to interpret all at once so people tend to place these labels on other people and things and organizations as a way to quickly describe them without spending the time to hash out each persons independent beliefs. Its just too exhausting when there's so much other stuff on the internet to do.

 

Very rarely do I see people state that they are leftwing or rightwing and actually meet every single stereotype people have for both parties on a very personal level. There's exceptions and different perspectives and a whole mess of other variables that shapes everyone's individual opinion. If people continue not to address that, that's when people start becoming extreme left or extreme right or misogynist or homophobic or racist or all that. Its based primarily on the virtue of numbers of people who paste those labels on other people.

Yeah. Too bad if the system is so broken that you only got two parties to choose from. That's when this kind of stereotyped thinking gets really ugly because all that's left is "Us" (i.e. "right") vs. "Them" (i.e. "wrong".)
