Lila Feuer Posted May 1, 2023 Reached Act V last night on Hell difficulty in Diablo II, could really benefit from a new rare (or one of the unique) javelin, not that my current one is bad or anything but it is starting to show its age damage-wise. These seem to be especially uncommon weapon drops in the game, and if it's Amazon specific javelins forget it, I can count on one hand the amount of maiden, ceremonial and matriarchal javs I've seen in the near 3 months of playing on one hand. I've been using a rare hyperion jav since I started Hell difficulty. Act IV was significantly easier than Act III however, but that said the Council members and Mephisto at the end were pushovers, and even Diablo himself wasn't that bad, he just had a little more health,Ā didn't die once. I am worried about those Ancients however at the end of Act V. 1 Share this post Link to post

This screenshot comes from a total conversion calledĀ Legend of Ahssun and these buildings are located a short distance south of the fortress city. The south gate leads to the poor part of town and the harbor while the north gate leads to the two farms and monastery. The mod however, said that the north has the harder enemies, while the south is the easier area of the two. In all actuality the north area has easier enemies closer to town, and it is easier to level up quicker there too. My least favorite part of the mod, so far, is the mines because they are boring and dull. If anyone gets into Gothic 2 mods, I recommend downloading Spine and using that instead of the Gothic 2 Starter that come bundled with the GOG and Steam. It's easier to find and manage the games and mods. I also like the GOG version of Gothic 2 because it is more portable and wouldn't give you permission errors like the steam version. 0 Share this post Link to post

Mr Masker Posted May 2, 2023 I like being reminded of this thread. :) Ā Been slowly getting through Disco Elysium, superb game but I usually need to be in the headspace to really concentrate and read a lot. Definitely recommend though, especially going in blind. Ā Also getting Perfect Ranks on all the Pizza Tower levels. I know the game has been praised to death by now but it's definitely my favourite game of the year so far, real well done platforming and creative levels. 1 Share this post Link to post

So that's why I didn't recognize the area. It has been a long time since I've played Gothic 2. I'd say it was one of the best game experiences I've had in my life. 0 Share this post Link to post
Frozen Posted May 3, 2023 (edited) Doing a second playthrough of The Wolf Among Us. This time around I'll be taking the opposite choices of the decisions I made in the previous playthrough. I really like this title, my favorite Telltale Games one for sure. 0 Share this post Link to post

FourLoko Salad Posted May 3, 2023 TNT Evilution. Last semester I challenged myself and played through Doom 1 and 2 on my laptop, keyboard only. This semester I was going to try the same with Final Doom, starting with Evilution.Ā I stopped around Map 7, and didn't touch the game for a while, until Civvie11 decided to do his Tiktok & Torment series in April, so I decided to play through as many levels as I could, and try to get to the end around the 30th. So farĀ I'm on Map 26, definitely behind Civvie.Ā Once finals are done, I'll have to spend a day or two grinding at the last few levels of TNT.Ā Ā Oh yeah, I've been playing Ultrakill on and off as well. 0 Share this post Link to post

Frozen Posted May 4, 2023 Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time. Having played Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters before this one, I guess I can't help but notice that Time Busters clearly improved upon some aspects of this game, but other than that I feel it's pretty neat. The graphics are such that I think they still look somewhat nice to this day, which is weird for a PS1 game in 2023. 0 Share this post Link to post
enigma101 Posted May 4, 2023 Crystalis for the Gameboy Colour. I've never really liked RPGs but this one is quite interesting. It's decently simple and has a cool thing of giving you coins whenever you kill a monster as well as xp. I'm only about 20-40 minutes in, and half of that time was spent wondering where I was meant to go, but I think it's good so far. 0 Share this post Link to post

Black Star Posted May 4, 2023 Been playing through Dark Souls III with the Cinders mod. I can never go back to vanilla DS3 again, lol. The QoL changes are too many to ever be satisfied with the amount of things it does better than the original. Also trodding through Warhammer 40k Inquisitor: Martyr. Love me some 40k. 1 Share this post Link to post

How is it the second time through?Ā Ā Nowhere near as good as The Wolf Among Us for me, but it's still a pretty interesting spin on the usual Batman story. I also like the investigation aspect of the game with the crime areas you get to comb over and the clue matching - reminds me of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy, which I think helped paved the way for these Telltale Games titles. 1 Share this post Link to post

Ā Ā Finished Circle of the Moon a while back, it was somehow way harder than I remember or maybe I'm losing my reflexes with age! The re-released version has a pretty cool card showing widget so you know if an enemy has a possible card drop or not, I remember only getting around half the cards when I first played it (back when it first came out on GBA) but managed to grind them all out this time. Ā I plan on working my way through them all soonish, I have a ds and all three games for that too. 1 Share this post Link to post

I'm playing on an emulator right now, as there are user made achievements that are pretty fun, like Defeat Death while under level 20, with only skeleton based souls and spear weapons. Adds fun meta challenges to the game. 1 Share this post Link to post
TheDanMarine Posted May 8, 2023 I opened up shadow warrior 2 expecting (reboot) shadow warrior, but more. instead I got mid-grade borderlands knockoff where I can't see what's going on when I fight anything. it's not really bad, exactly, it's just aggressively mediocre. the biggest problem is that it really needed to tone down everything three notches. the visual effects are too many, the drop loot is too much, the weapons have so much overlap that there's a lot of guns that completely dwarf similar guns and make them useless. the amount of customization hits "this is stupid" very quickly. you can attach three or four(somewhere in there)Ā different kinds of effects onto each gun. I will also say that for how many systems they have and how many options are in each of them, all you get in way of a tutorial for most of them is a tiny text box that doesn't even go past one page.Ā Ā and frankly all of that would be something I can put up with, if it weren't for the fact that the combat is boring. there's maybe one or two guns that have beefy sounds and cool effects but even those are done dirty by how enemies don't really stop much when they're shot. I think I got this game for free and boy am I glad I did.Ā I'm still gonna play it through all the way though, it's not bad enough for me to give up on entirely. also I kinda forgot about this cause I turned off voices entirely and skip every cutscene but wang in this one is so annoying it made me do what I just said.Ā 1 Share this post Link to post

Murdoch Posted May 8, 2023 Recently finished the Battlezone remaster finally. Loved the game back in the day and it was fun to revisit it. I never finished the Red Odyssey add-on though, finding a point I simply couldn't advance due to difficulty. Well age has apparently made me even more impatient, as I got fed up with it even earlier this time. Onto the Battlezone 2 remaster, which I never finished the original ofĀ either. Would definitely love to see a new modern Battlezone game. The combination of real time strategy and FPS is so much fun. 0 Share this post Link to post
Pierrot Posted May 8, 2023 Recently finished the first Splatoon on Wii U, I quite enjoyed it, very colorful and straightforward. Already purchased the second game for Switch, will play it eventually when I get the Switch back from my brother (he's going to play the new Zelda). Ā Now I'm playing Assassin's Creed Unity on PS4, on my way playing the whole franchise. 0 Share this post Link to post
