Oh, that. :D I have a feeling survivalists will sling some copies of the internet into space as the end nears, so other civilizations know what happened. So some giant lizards can later experience Doom, if they could find the wiki and compile GetWAD. 0 Share this post Link to post

Aldaraia Posted July 14, 2017 Doom's occasional flirts with emerging forms of technology inevitably led to an autonomous superintelligent bot being designed to beat and create Doom maps while rapidly improving its skillset. It escaped quarantine and quickly multiplied itself, giving birth to a new Doom community consisting entirely of AI entities. The peace between the two communities was short lived as the artificial Doomers soon came to the conclusion that the humans could not comprehend the full challenge Doom had to offer. In a decade, they overran the internet with thousands of megawads that require ungodly abuse of RNG/engine quirks to beat, ultimately claiming Doom to be the premier AI sport for themselves. 3 Share this post Link to post

In a decade, they overran the internet with thousands of megawads that require ungodly abuse of RNG/engine quirks to beat, ultimately claiming Doom to be the premier AI sport for themselves. To the humans, these WADs were no better than Terrywads. Sick and tired of them overrunning the internet, the human Doom community challenged the AIs to the ultimate deathmatch smackdown, to prove which party was the superior. John Romero, now elderly and a cherished retiree of the gaming community, returned to join his fellow humans in the great battle, and legends abounded that his trash-talking alone caused many AIs to corrupt. John Carmack, impressed at the marvel of technology his game had led to, initially took the side of the AIs, but went over to the human side after the AIs insulted virtual reality. Adrian Carmack, witnessing the great battles, modeled exquisite sculptures based off them. These sculptures became the standard that all video game based art was based off of. Despite the AIs' skills bordering on godlike and their complete and absolute knowledge of the game down to single lines of code, they were ultimately no match for human improvisation and wit. After three long years of blood and rockets, humanity triumphed. John Carmack trapped the AIs in a virtual reality world full of impossibly difficult megawads. After a celebration, in which no one was drinking Red Bull or Mountain Dew for a change, peace returned to the Doom community. 3 Share this post Link to post
