I used a script in an attempt to rename my map in slade, it made my map revert to the oldest version.

Question

map MAP01 lookup "HUSTR_1"
{
titlepatch = "CWILV00"
next = "MAP02"
secretnext = "MAP02"
sky1 = "SKY1"
cluster = 5
par = 30
music = "$MUSIC_RUNNIN"
}

I used this script and my map i spent many hours on is now lost... Possibly forever. Thanks, slade.

There are backup files in my doombuilder folder how do i open them?

I think for Doom Builder 2 you have to rename to .wad, but GZDoom Builder freaks out and thinks there no map in the file if you rename it.

You should never have two different programs editing the same file at the same time. To avoid this happening again, close DoomBuilder before you open Slade, and vice versa.

Also, make a back-up copy of the wad at least once a day.

As for those back-up files, make a copy to be safe, then rename the file to a different name from your main wad, and change the extension to wad. If all goes well, you can then edit and/or play that wad file.

EDIT: Wow! MMMMega ninja'd! Eight posts while I was typing!

Umm... what? There's no way MAPINFO could have broken a map since it's not a script and is only used for display and assignments. Something else went wrong.

Well, i don't really know what caused it. Here's one of my screenshots of my map before this disaster.

There's no way for that unless that he did the map in Slade and it crashed.....

Where can i look for older versions that still work in doom builder 2?

There should be .backups of your map. Open those.

How do you open.backups? I double click them and that doesnt work.
