The "stupid mod idea" thread

I kinda like that idea :-)

How about henpecked demons and/or zombies? demons who are scared of everything? Seems stupid to me. No offense is intended to anyone,

basically this idea is going to be my first big project 

banana factory 2
a man named banana factory dude who is trying to stop and evil brain in a jar with a mechanical body from destroying the world 
and he has to go thought many places and use weapons made out of pure bananas to take down enemies and the evil army named bloodthirsties  
the whole thing is just going to be silly so i just thought i post this here

The "16 Shades of Grey" Community Project for Doom 1 and/or Doom2

Change the palette/colormap to only have different shades of grey, and then have the various mappers use that when making their maps.

 

There could probably also be a "16 Shades of Purple", a "16 Shades of Orange", and a "16 Shades of Blue" Community Project as well.

What if doomguy turns into huge version of himself on the bossfight level? He could beat the monster or lose of course. If doomguy loses, he could shrink into a wimp (?) but if he wins, a large picture of his face with a wink and shit eating grin. Oh yes, and laughing?

You may want to check out 50 Shades of Graytall megawad. It's a challenge where mappers are tasked to make a map from selected few textures that are generally considered pretty ugly (GRAYTALL being chief among them) but the maps should still look as nice as possible. But I do like your idea a lot.

What if there was far worse enemies than the usual undead and demons we see? What if it was so bad, that the marines and the hellspawn had to join forces to get rid of this new set of abominations? What would happen then? One can only imagine...or not.

Wide Doomguy Walking.

Every ingame area and floortexture, as well as every object and sprite stretched to twice their both X and Y width.
Every walltexture stretched to 2x size horizontally.
Every single track replaced by Song for Denise.

Play as the original id team, fighting various struggles like bugs or budget problems that manifest as enemies, and try to finish Doom.

ChubbZ: A mod where every monster (and the player) is comically fat as hell. 

  • The Zombies, Imps and Nazis need scooters to move across the level.
  • Demons move by rolling around and attack by trying to roll you over at nightmare speed, they can be stoped by heavy weaponry or crashing into a wall.
  • Spectres behave the same as Demons but they are so fat their fuzz lines are thicker and move slower.
  • Lost Souls look comically chubby, and they strain themselves by trying to stay afloat, this is represented by them randomly entering their pain frames and shaking every 60 tics.
  • Pain Elementals are stuck on the ground, their arms reduced to only chubby hands barely sticking out of their massive frame, they attack by spitting a custom projectile that looks like a Lost Soul which rolls over the ground and explodes then releases bone fragments in random directions as shrapnel, when killed it releases 9 Lost Souls in random directions.
  • Cacodemons are stuck in the ground as well but they spit three caco balls with a cartoony reverb burp sound effect, when killed they explode into a shower of blue gore and red gore.
  • Mancubi are so fat they die after attacking once; their belly rips open and guts come spilling out.
  • Revenants are literally big boned, their chest armor is taped in the middle to hold it in place, they move as slow as their PSX Doom version.
  • Archies are also big boned, but their attack gets interrupted mid point as they get tired of holding their arms up, they also move slow.
  • Arachnotrons and Masterminds have sturdy platforms with tank threads in place of their metal legs to move around, as compensation they have twice as much firepower.
  • Cyberdemons loose their herculean (stygian?) physique, get manboobs (demonboobs?), their red wiring forms a makeshift belly and both of their legs are fully mechanical, sometimes he gets tired of holding his arm cannon and only fires 1 time instead of 3.
  • Doomguy is just chubbs from Skulltag/Zandronum but sitting on a rocket powered wheelchair.

If a need is not fulfilled, the doomguy will move more slowly or even stop to sleep for example.

 

Wearing armor or having plenty of ammo will cause energy to drop much faster due to overloading.

Still less management than Hideous Destructor

BONE: A monster replacement mods that swaps all monsters for revenant versions of themselves complete with withe armor and skeletonized bodies. The monsters retain their original attacks but they also fire revenant missiles of varying size and power depending on the monster; Zombiemen fire ther usual pea shoot and also at the same time they fire a small revenant rocket that's smaller than an Imp fireball and does [5-30] damage instead of t the usual [20-80] damage, a Cyberdemon fires it's rockets and at the same time fires large comet shaped fireballs with similar behavior to a revenant rocket, except the smoke trail is bigger and longer, and does [64-320] damage.

Doom, the mobile game ad version. Complete with "To Hell with you!" taglines and all.

 

The catch: Since it's a mobile game ad, you need to play like a complete fucking idiot to clear levels; your goal is to die as fast as possible, and the levels are intentionally made so that it's really fucking hard to do so.

 

MAP30 is wow.wad, but with Commander Keens. Good luck sucking, Marine!

Team Hotdog Deathmatch  -

5-10 Minute Deathmatch, every kill with a special Weapon will transform the fragged Player into a couple of Hotdogs.
Those Hotdogs will be collected automaticly in a big Hotdog Dispenser, looking like one of those:

After the Deathmatch Round is over, one Player must go and stand ready to "drink" the Hotdogs.
The other Players of the Team must run up to the bottom of the big Hotdog dispenser and Jump onto them, to squeeze them out.

The Players bounce off the Hotdogs to the Ground, so that they have to run back to the Top to jump down again.

Every jump is one drunk Hotdog.

 

In this Phase every Player has only a Leaf Blower as a Weapon to push back others.
The other Team can try with that to interrupt the jumping Process or the drinking Process.

The Team with the fattest Marine wins.

 

@Krawa  I want to play that on Sessions :P

team deathmatch with nothing but shit assault rifles that have the accuracy of an drunk 97 year old man riding a horse and a rocket launcher where the rocket comes straight out the back end and into your face

Oh i got one that sound really stupid, how about a mod where you have to run through traps and dangerous hall ways without dying, but you die anyways at the end of the level. 

 

Now i've said it out loud it sounds so stupid i'll see myself out.

Fast monsters in every other difficulty setting, but the player moves progressively slower for each difficulty setting, except nightmare! As compensation armor increases its protection value by 10% from HNTR up to UV, also all health related items increase their healing value; 2 hp for bonuses, 5 hp for stimpacks, 10 hp for medkits. Powerups remain unchanged for most difficulty settings except the Soulsphere, Invulnerabilty and Berserk on UV, the former adds 200%, the second lasts twice as much, and the latter grants temporary speed boost that lasts as much as the rad suit.
