Fredrik Posted August 27, 2002 I don't have Quicktime but I can see .png files. The problem is when you *do* have QuickTime, then IE usually doesn't display PNGs. 0 Share this post Link to post
DaJuice Posted August 27, 2002 Fredrik, do you think it would be okay if I modeled this guy sometime down the line, I'm really taken with the concept. You'd get full credit of course. 0 Share this post Link to post

DaJuice Posted August 27, 2002 Indeed :D Got a couple little projects to finish first, then I'll get to it. 0 Share this post Link to post
EVIL Posted August 28, 2002 Dont use frederiks cyberdemon proportions.. there somewhat off ;P 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted August 28, 2002 I know the legs are a bit too small... yeah. It's because I drew it from top to bottom. 0 Share this post Link to post
EVIL Posted August 28, 2002 I get that problem to when I dont work out a "base proportion doll".. (Stick figure lightly sketched out on paper..) 0 Share this post Link to post
DOOM Anomaly Posted August 29, 2002 Woah, that pic surpasses amazing in many ways, great details and everything...jw, how long did that take u to draw? 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted August 29, 2002 Well, probably 3-4 hours, I don't remember for sure. 0 Share this post Link to post
DaJuice Posted August 30, 2002 Hey Fredrik, I'm gonna start modeling it real soon. What do you think about changing the legs to have an extra joint, like this (the right leg)? I don't have much against the orginal cyberdemon's legs, but doing them that way is gonna limit movement and the kind of poses it can hit. I'd rather do them the "correct" way. Is it possible to get some sketches from different views of this thing? Nothing like what you've done above, just some rough sketches so I have an idea what the back, and side of the head are supposed to look like. btw, if anyone didn't see it the first time, this is what my last attempt at a full demon looked like... I never finished it cuz I didn't like the way it was going. 0 Share this post Link to post
EVIL Posted August 30, 2002 Wow.. you got some great modeling skills u use max, lightwave, maya? 0 Share this post Link to post
dsm Posted August 30, 2002 Hm, maybe you should work on making the muscles bigger and generally make the cybie look burlier. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted August 30, 2002 Damnit you should prepare for making Doom 3 models once it's out! :D 0 Share this post Link to post
DaJuice Posted August 30, 2002 Thx hammer-stroke, I used max for that, but lately I've been modeling with houdini. dsm, I know. My creature looks way too civilized compared to Fredrik's. His cyberdemon looks like something out of a nightmare, sorta like Michael Jackson ya know. 0 Share this post Link to post
DaJuice Posted August 30, 2002 Hehe, who knows, maybe. You didn't answer my question though, would you mind if I changed the legs? If you don't wanna draw no more that's cool, I can improvise. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted August 30, 2002 I'm going away over the weekend... do whatever you like. And like dsm said, the muscles should be bigger. 0 Share this post Link to post
Night-Fang Posted September 1, 2002 Wow! Thats *really* a badass model! Keep it up! I cant wait to see this thing completed! Oh yeah as for the legs, you gotta do the two jointed system. I say this because since your model is so detailed and realistic, making the one joint leg would IMO totally screw it up and make the demon look unbalanced. It's not a big fault in the doom sprites because they are well....sprites which arent that detailed at all so thus you dont really notice. 0 Share this post Link to post
