After playing the new DOOM I re-bought Doom 3 on Steam and starting going through it again, and I actually enjoy it more than I enjoyed the new DOOM. I have a new appreciation for Doom 3.

It would be a good port if only the author wanted to. R3D fixes the actually cool glitches of Doom (e.g. wallruns), yet implements the most obnoxious of them, the random sound pitch. I don't think it can even be turned off!!

Also, FFS, not even the development team itself fully understands how do Risen's 3D lifts work! You can read this in the supplied documentation, I'm not joking here!

Not to mention that the main programmer can't even be directly reached.
