Only a few of them have what they're supposed to have: teh funney.

This one was somewhat funny.

a) it was made by a Russian;
b) ... during the cold war;
c) millions of western employees were distracted by it, causing profits to plunder.

the creator, peyo was a socialist and had an affinity for alchemy and lsd IIRC. if you look at the smurf official website, the company that owns smurfs is called International Merchandising, Promotion & Services, or IMPS for short. there was a lot christian rightwingers during the 80's that said peyo was a devil worshipper.
