Playpal not found?

I downloaded this custom wad...and then i ran it with doom legacy, but now it wont start saying "playpal not found!"


Whats wrong?

either you need to move your iwad into the legacy working dir and reconfigure the launcher or the pwad your trying to run is for a diffrent iwad..

try moving your iwads into the legacy working dir first though..

PWAD = Patch WAD
IWAD I think stands for Internal WAD...but i'm not sure.

An IWAD contains all of the data (music, sfx, textures, sprites etc) for the game to run. A PWAD contains maybe a new map or two, some new textures, new music etc etc so it replaces it's respective thing in the IWAD.

IWAD = doom.wad, doom2.wad, plutonia.wad, heretic.wad, etc.

PWAD = dwango5.wad, mm.wad, yourwad.wad, etc.

What's the name of the custom wad (the pwad)?

Hi the problem is you are trying to use the master levels like the doom game... This is an error this files are not WAD files are PWAD files.

 - https://zdoom.org/wiki/PWAD

You have to use the option -file to load the maps on this way:

gzdoom.exe -iwad doom2.wad -file chillax-v9.7.2FIXED.wad -skill 1
