Yeah, I googled a little after writing that post actually. Apparently they're going for a 1:1 remake now, and a Q1 2020 release. Also, there does exist a SS3 which is in development, but not coming anytime soon. Beside a few concept arts we barely have any info.

Ah, yes,  good old ps1, I have quite fond memories of it, playing it sure is quite a treat. Even after all these years It still has it's own really unique charm.

Moving on in Blood, this will likely remain my favorite death animation in the entire game. Skin splitting in half and falling down while the skeleton remains on its feet for a few more seconds before collapsing.

Looks like DirectX renders do the game justice. Pretty dark, but OpenGL is probably too bright and seemed to also be really outdated.

Meanwhile, looks like shit hits the fan in E6. Apparently Cultists learned to use dynamite and the Tesla Cannon. Moreover, the former bosses are only getting more and more common and the encounters themselves more intense.
