It would be great if someone made a page about DOOM remix or PWAD MP3s... somewhere. Either on a large DOOM site or independently, attempting to keep track of all the versions out there.

Synthetic demon (E1M5 remix) is imo the best of these by far - not very true to Doom though, but damn it's a great track.

Dunno, Threshold of Doom sounds like any other e1m1 remix to my ears.
What I miss, is a e1m1 remix, which starts out ambient (to signify that you just entered the base and you can feel that something is wrong) and suddenly the el guitar kicks in. I know that doing the transition between the ambience and the actual e1m1 track might be difficult, but I'm sure it can be done.

nice sounds. some of thse make doom sound more like a dance club then a demonic shootout. Doom's music sounded best on my AWE64

Doom's music sounds best on whatever it was made with...(The Roland SC-55)...well. It sounds best with whatever you are used to, I guess.

Yeah, actually I really like how it sounds from my SB16 coming out of doom/doom2, particularly in-game. Other formats/mixes can be quite cool as listening music by itself.
