Why were there 9847 people on Doomworld on February 15, 2015?

I started using this site on June. Was Doomworld more popular back then?

Was there a reason for 10000 people to use Doomworld on this day?

I have always wondered why 9847 people use this site on that day.

That number is over half of the amount of members today (Currently 18018)

February 15 is my birthday, so InstaDoom was like a gift for me.

So that explains it.

Thanks for linking that page.

To go into more depth... I heard the Linguaca interview where he explained a video on Youtube randomly jumped in views to a ridiculous number. Then it became game news and drove traffic here. Ling can splain more when he arrives. I've just rolled out the blood red carpet for him.

Quite a few mods gain mainstream game news popularity, but I don't think any feed back to Doomworld in such a way.

Unfortunately somewhere in history the phrase got messed up, the real phrase is: "the right bird gets the worm."
