gzdoom or zandorum limited lives possible?

Hi, this is my first post, discovering doom lately and i love it etc.

 

I want to play some wads/maps with a friend, but we don't want unlimited respawns, kind of feels pointless. Is there some way we can set a limited number of lives, or a mod that does it based on score? Or just a flat # of lives? I've looked around a bit but can't seem to find anything to useful, other than outright disabling respawns.

 

edit: Okay i've figured out how to do it in zandronum (doomseeker), but i prefer GZDOOM, any options?

GZDoom's multiplayer is strictly peer-to-peer, and it's not exactly optimal. Zandronum is specifically designed with multiplayer in mind.
