Computer Games & Animations event in Dallas

I've been asked to announce the Computer Games & Animations event happening the weekend of September 13-15, 2002, at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX. Presented by the UTD Institute for Interactive Arts & Engineering, and sponsored by the UTD School of Arts & Humanities and the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science, the CG&A event will be three days of presentations and demonstrations given by Dallas game developers. The entire event is FREE to the general public.

Scheduled Itinerary and Speakers:
Friday, September 13
5:30-7:30pm: Meet the UTD Student Game Developers Association
7:30-8:45pm: Speaker John Romero, Monkeystone, Inc
8:45-9:15pm: Reception: Meet John Romero

Saturday, September 14
1:30-3:00pm: "The Business of Gaming" Panel
~ Stevie Case (Panel Chair) COO, Monkeystone
~ John Fowler, CEO of Magic Lantern/Gold Creek
~ Steve Nix, CEO of Ritual Entertainment
~ Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software (tentative)
3:30-4:45pm: Speaker Dean Terry, assistant professor at UTD, formerly with Atom Films
7:30-8:45pm: Speaker Craig Hammack, of Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic
8:45-9:15pm: Reception: Meet Craig Hammack

Sunday, September 15
1:30-3:00pm: "Teaching Gaming and Animation" Panel
3:30-5:00pm: Magic Lantern Playware: Writing for New Media

Kick ass man! I had no idea this thing was free or I'd have been planning to go to it weeks ago :P I'm in Oklahoma so it'd be simple for me to drive down to Dallas. Meeting Romero would be cool :P

Dammit, can't Romero hold a conference in my home town or something ? When sending the invitation, I'd better not mention that my town has more cows than people, then.
