Doom what if:Other Doom 2

Let's say in some alternative universe  Doom 2 instead of being like it is today is a Vanilla/Boom megawad from our universe (Memento Mori,Requiem,Alien Vendetta,Scythe etc.. and the let's say Carmack modified the engine for Doom 2) what do you think would people think of Doom 2 there and how would the modding community be different?
