In that case, I save the wad and close it. Then, reload the wad from Slade immediately. They'll be shown as normal doom flat elements.

In Slade, right-click the PNG, or a selected group of PNGs, and in the drop-dowm menu, select Graphic, and then Convert To...  Then, in the resulting window, open the drop-down Convert To menu and choose Doom Flat (Palleted).

Make sure the resulting flats are in the correct name space (flats folder in a pk3 or between F_START and F_END markers in a wad).

Since you want to convert to FLATS I assume that you use the DOOM format, in which case you should be aware that those images should be 64 x64.

If you are thinking of using one of the ports, such as GZDOOM, you can use just about any size and png. Simply stick the images between TX_ markers.
