|Getsu Fune||crazy map, glad he gave a unique spin on the computer map. took me awhile to find the SSG and to get around. not much in the way of combat, I hated the surprise archie and baron. also at one point I had to traverse trees which was fucking awful. the control tower and the key pedestals were interesting.||x|
|Anonymous||Basically very simple map. Dark. First switch is hidden too well, after 6 minutes searching I lost patience and used an editor to find it. It got ZDoom on my i7-2600K on its knees, due to 4599 placed things (mostly used for decoration only) in an almost open area... Imho the intention of this map is not a creative DooM level, but some sort of jokewad. Without serious gameplay: 1/5 for the efford only, but I cannot take this serious. Not at all. In other words: WOT. Sorry if you don't like my opinion.||x|
|Anonymous||This is clearly the worst detailed level ever created for Doom. This is another example of author's selfishness where he puts more work into the detail, yet the gameplay is pretty much zero. Map is also laggy as hell, there are many trees which makes wandering around confusing and is very easy to get lost. Use IDDQD and IDBEHOLDL and stare at details for few minutes, then delete wad. I give this 1/5 only because the music and details were good but the gameplay is ass.||x|
|Anonymous||^You are right, the alternate version is much better but still unbalanced, I died about 50 times, mostly because of that fucking chaingun guy with it's spider chaingun (was out of ammo). Whatever, good thing is that I found SSG and lots of ammo when I started game, but at end of level I was still out of ammo, I couldn't kill the barons and I had to skip them. Then I reloaded saved game, cheated for ammo and killed them. Balance is of course fucked up, even with lots of health and armor! 2/5 -Doomer95||x|
|Anonymous||To the above two persons :try GroveAlternate . To B.P.R.D.: Please , come back .||x|
|Anonymous||this could have benefited more if was added a shotgun at start of the level, because there is shells everywhere but not shotguns to be found! all you have is your crappy pistol! and the map is laggy too! as for level design, lots of trees and is hard to avoid monsters, especially the arch vile which there is no cover to hide, let alone kill the bastard. i give 0* because the author didn't even tried to balance the fucking map!!!! -machoman99||x|
|Anonymous||This is one of the most disappointing maps out of there. Simply because it is very dark AND laggy! Did I mention there are a lot of trees which makes the navigating near impossible?
Nevertheless, this is the least of the problems, the gameplay is so fucking unbalanced that you are going to fight monsters with just your pistol. The only solution is cheating for weapons. I'm sorry sincerely, but this map sucks dick. 1/5 for effort though. -Doomer95||x|
|Anonymous||Brilliant . - Chips O'Tool||x|
|Anonymous||Neat map, and plays quite well on a limit removing port on my end. Only thing is, as someone said before, is make the switches more obvious. I honestly wouldn't have found out about the first switch unless someone put it in the comments.
|Anonymous||I personally didn't enjoy playing it. The music also really bummed me out for some reason.||x|
|Anonymous||Kind of a repeat of what's been said before. Absolutely stunning atmosphere and a great automap, with some really unique, bizarre scenery. Unfortunately, the map suffers badly in the gaemplay department. B.P.R.D was always one of the most imaginative editors in Doom's history, and this is a testament to that. 3.5/5 for being memorable. -Snakes||x|
|Anonymous||This map has a great look and atmosphere going for it, but not much gameplay IMO, to be honest. Still 3 stars required for the good aspects though.||x|
|Anonymous||Weird and wonderful - the automap was especially cute. However, I'd have to go with the crowd that say the map plays badly. 3* -Phobus||x|
|Anonymous||This WAD is simply beautiful acoustically and visually. The detail is amazing. Everything looks as painstakingly realistic as possible. The light effects are haunting and beautiful all at once, and the music is simply gorgeous. It's one of my favorite Doom music tracks ever. The gameplay is very unique, in that you wonder throughout a massive forest. But that is the main issue with this game. It's a dark map where you have to find obscurely hidden switches. ||x|
|Anonymous||I played this with IDKFA and ran out of ammo.
Itīs unplayable even with IDDQD because you will definitely get stuck.
IDCLIP should do the trick, I didnīt tried yet.
Still has best ambience and originality ever.||x|
|Anonymous||Spectacular, BPRD does it again!||x|
|Anonymous||beautiful, great, stunning, atmospheric, cute, a
must see, a fairy tale... but unplayable||x|
|Anonymous||b.p.r.d is the funniest dude 3/5 for the funny story and 5/5 for the level 8/5 in all||x|
|Anonymous||FUCK THAT!!! Equinox is fuckin better than this shit and that's definetely playable. With nice settings and I liked all the monsters. Really brought the feeling of Doom action again, I mean come on 500 to 600 monsters per level but the one thing that's a pain the ass is the FREAKIN measly amount of ammo. You expect me to get the enemies in the cross-fire a thousand times?!! 4/5 to be fair.||x|
|Anonymous||Not too bad, very psychedelic. And to the above asshole reviewer, i mean yeah the nuts series was pretty horrible (not concept wise, but lag wise it was). At least this map is playable (laggy, but playable). Not only that it's a new, innovative idea.||x|
|Anonymous||Won a caco-award.||x|
|Anonymous||Dark, beautifull sky, nice ideas but kinda slow. Didn't manage to play it till the end with that speed..||x|
|Anonymous||For everyone whos had problems with Column Errors or low frame rates with this wad- Search under 'Grove' at the top, and go get Grove-Alternate which is a fixed up version of it.
|Anonymous||Greatest wad of all time. -Epyo||x|
|Anonymous||It's very ambiant... very original, artistic at the limit. I like creative maps. However, he oversized number of tree break considerably the gameplay... Some well placed transparent texture should have done the same effect and would increased the framerate. Good Job anyway. 4/5 -- GodCells||x|
|Anonymous||Baah. It's too bright. And trees. Need more trees.||x|
|Anonymous||This is simply excellent.||x|
|Anonymous||Sorry everyone for not doing something about the frame rate. I was going to put a big lookout tower in the center, so you could see the whole world, so thats why the whole level is in one 'room'. but i scraped the tower idea and left the level the way it was. Who knows -maybe in five years time it'll be playable.
Plus- come on- its not THAT slow, is it?
|Anonymous||A damned awesome idea! but I wish I could have played this through...
I really wish the author could have optimized this level more by using one sided walls inside the forests so that you cannot "see" the _entire_ map all at once. I give this a 4/5 for creativity.||x|
|Anonymous||Neat idea but lags like hell on a 2000+.
And thats for an engine thats over 10 years old ;) (4/5)||x|
|Anonymous||A heap of shit. Sure it's quite atmospheric, but thats only due to the music, darkness and number of trees. But all this is, is a ridiculous switch-quest in pitch black conditions. And the switches are hidden completeley. The first is a book in a bookcase for fucks sake. If you are going to do things like that you have to make it a little more obvious to the player. Most people will harp on about the slow framerate, but this wad has far worse problems than that. 1/5||x|
|Anonymous||Looks great, plays like ass flavored ass.||x|
|Anonymous||fp! crazy map nuts3.wad with an ocean of decorations instead of the huge ocean of monsters||x|
