     | In case anyone gets the wrong impression from the review above comparing this with the Doom(1) version, this was a version made by the wad's author (not one of those crappy automated conversions such as found in Maximum Doom). Having played both, I would say that he improved the gameplay considerably for this Doom2 version and made good use of the extra resources. An excellent and memorable map, and more challenging than most maps of its era. | x |

     | This is the Doom 2 version of 13779. As with most contemporary Doom/Doom 2 conversions it is essentially the same map - bugs and all - but with mancubuses and hell knights instead of cacodemons, and a smattering of chaingunners etc. The room with the crushing ceiling has a monster teleport, whereas the original level did not (this actually improves gameplay slightly). The ending battle is slightly easier because the barons of hell have become hell knights. | x |
