|trrobin||A flawed but clearly impressive survival and atmosphere based multi-part hub. Patience required as there is little action. No pistol bug in latest Zdoom versions.||x|
|Anonymous||FIX THE PISTOL BUG!!!!!!!||x|
|Anonymous||I just played this for the first time on October 30, 2014. I am amazed at what this team managed to accomplish in 2004! This wad almost has a System Shock 2 feel to it at times, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into the plot. Be sure to edit the first decorate actor or the you won't be able to use the pistol due to the "pistol bug". 5/5 stars.||x|
|Anonymous||Boring, a popup menu that I couldn't figure out how to use, and a shitty first fight. I hated everything about it.||x|
|Anonymous||great puzzles, perfect sector spacing, and good monster placement provide for the perfect blend of action and thinking in gameplay||x|
|Anonymous||If I wanted to play Half-Life I'd play Half-Life, not a Doom WAD that plays like Half-Life. Even then reading a book is a lot more entertaining than the Half-Life franchise and it's certainly more entertaining than this boring slog.||x|
|Anonymous||This was really awesome. It's worth playing even though they never did the rest. I really want to know how the story ends.||x|
|Anonymous||Very cool, I very much enjoyed the story as it unfolded. 07/23/13||x|
|Anonymous||Did I say it's so-so b4? It's actually great compared to most TCs. ~5/5||x|
|Anonymous||It would be better if scripts weren't weirdly fucked up. There's an error preventing from running a music in Labs (when it teleports you to checkerboard room) due to typo in scripts and nobody can't fix it.||x|
|Anonymous||It's like the best Marathon/System_Shoc k resemblance in doom I ever witnessed and relates to the doom stories. The ending to crash down to Mars w/ a 99% death probability is a complete anti-climax. There is some of the random *insanity* noises, hud message alignment, computer interface, log commands that needs fixing. And it should top both Marathon and System Shock. ~2/5||x|
|Anonymous||I just wish there were more of it. Best new game experience in a long time. 6/5||x|
|Anonymous||Lot of whiners here. Go back to your shitty slaughtermaps if you can't handle using your brain for once.||x|
|Anonymous||Almost as overrated as it is boring.||x|
|Anonymous||That new "oof" sound is burned into my mind after having played this. I saw plenty of HOMs in the storage areas with the crates (on the sloped bits), and no matter what the wiki told me to do, I couldn't get the pistol bug fixed. The new skin is hilarious and ugly, and even though I am badass with the pistol, I cannot fight hundreds of bull demons and imps with only it. I also don't understand why the ship is constantly spinning in space, shouldn't it be moving forward?||x|
|Anonymous||IMO it's almost ridiculous this only has 4 starts. Possibly the best ZDoom hub ever. It beats Daedalus any day!||x|
|Anonymous||Better than KDiZD? It's just as bad because this wad has the exact same type of locked-door and switch hunting gameplay!||x|
|Anonymous||It's too slow, which can be okay if it was because of the story. But being slow is a bad thing in this wad because of the locked doors. It's like every time I try to open a door, I have to go to the other end of the ship to hit some switch, but that switch is behind another locked door that can only be opened by another switch on the other end of the ship, etc. etc. etc..||x|
|Anonymous||looks great, not do fun 2*||x|
|Anonymous||Each to their own. It's still better than KDiZD.||x|
|Anonymous||Too much fucktarded HalfLife shit for Zdoom 2.4.0 to contain and so it breaks almost constantly.||x|
|Anonymous||this wad is completely jampacked of electronic failures, high temperatures, denied access, low pressure, low power, and miscellaneous other shit that simply doesn't operate, making you to have to meander around the same cramped boring ass rooms for hours enduring extremely controlled gameplay and evidently no fun. I cringed everytime I saw a door knowing ahead of time that this wad was going to give me some excuse as to why I'm not going to be allowed to open it. Boring as fuck.||x|
|Anonymous||Cool level design. The error with the pistol is caused by a DECORATE trick that doesn't work anymore. You can make it playable again by renaming the 'Pistol' in the DECORATE lump to something else, but this results in you starting with it in your hand. You can always play the WAD with an older ZDoom version (pre-2.1) if you want the atmosphere of starting unarmed.||x|
|Anonymous||Pistol doesn't work after being picked up. Kept on dying at the beginning from the first round of imps. Possible script error, maybe.||x|
|Anonymous||great opening and graphic..but I don't know how to escape, and no gun...||x|
|Anonymous||Best hub ever. Truely feels like a new game.||x|
|Anonymous||It's innovative, it's amazing looking, it's smart, it's a superb level... but I just like shootin' shit in old school doom style, and this is way too puzzle-y for me. I guess I'm a traditionalist, but I like it fast n furious as opposed to slick n cerebral. 4/5||x|
|Anonymous||Great wad, but took forever to download. It's HUGE.||x|
|Anonymous||Really sucks that people are giving bad ratings to this wad because it's "boring" or "too hard". All I can say is forget them. The whole point was to take doom a new direction and they succeeded beyond expectations. RTC-3057 steps away from the regular monster packed rooms with 90 cell packs and goes into a story driven gripping adventure filled with puzzles and surprises. It's a grand experience. - Martyrdom ||x|
|Anonymous||5/5 - SuperGod||x|
|Anonymous||Fuckin awesome! 5/5 -Lipa||x|
|Anonymous||Freaking amazing. 50000/5||x|
|Anonymous||It doesn't get much better than this. I just wish you guys would finish the second hub. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Pretty interesting storyline and gameplay. And an awesome soundtrack by Julian as well. Strange though... somewhere in the ACS script, there seems to be an alternate plot than of the original story. It might explain the unused sprites within the wad. Nice job over all. -DooMarine||x|
|Anonymous||One of the best Doom mods ever. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Scripts, scripts, scripts... I want DooM!I want teh Super Shatgun and some fat monsters!
3/5 only for long hard work.||x|
|Anonymous||One of the best story lines I have ever seen, simply amazing effects. 5/5 -r_rr.||x|
|Anonymous||I did that fix myself in XWE. Thanks to the last poster for saying that, because this is one of the most amazing wads I've seen. I was genuinely scared by it! It's so tense. --Crazee Boy, 4/5||x|
|Anonymous||ZDoom crashes on startup now because RTC-3057 uses DECORATE features that have been deprecated in recent ZDoom versions. Open the DECORATE file and replace "Pistol" with "Pistol2".||x|
|Anonymous||An excellent wad/TC/hub which incledes great gameplay, great architecture, a nice challenge, and sticks well to the theme. A must-play!||x|
|Anonymous||A complete masterpiece. I look forward to Hub 2 with great anticipation. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||only complaint is the filesize. besides that, there's no keeping it from getting 5/5.||x|
|Anonymous||Pros: Good to decent layout which makes the environment solid, with competent music (some tracks fit better than others), and evident effort put overall. Cons: Some texturing and details dulled by excessive attention to realism, game play is slow and health stringent, and the "story" is little more than an embellished switch hunt. [3/5] ~Chain Mail||x|
|Anonymous||From the 2 year old point of view, nice architecture and atmosphere, wether it pays homage to System Shock or not. Too much crap to read though, stuff that isn't really connected with the game (like dr's past in the labs). Too much telling vs showing. But the story itself developes pretty good with player's sanity going down the drain, while still in pursuit of demons. 4 stars.||x|
|Anonymous||5/5, No Comments -impClaw||x|
|Anonymous||One of the few WADs that uses ZDoom features by the boatload and still doesn't make them feel tacked-on. Truly a masterpiece.||x|
|Anonymous||A little bit confusing, half Quake, half Life, half (lol) Doom. A great experience within another world, with a ton of new awesome features, but with a poor gameplay. Many of the rooms are too much empty, without any purpose. It makes me think of an unfinished project. Thus, you MUST play it and keep in mind how complex it should have been to build such an enormous pwad, totally new. Shaviro and NiGHTMARE, the leaders, made a fantastic job, even if a lot of work is remaining to improve it. 5/5 - Jive||x|
|Anonymous||It's a issue that arose with the newest version of Zdoom where they changed stuff with decorate.
You can fix it by simply changing the classname of the pistol to something else. - Kristus||x|
|Anonymous||Without a doubt the greatest Doom mod I've ever played. While the gameplay is sometimes tedious, the beautiful map designs, amazing music, and well-written storyline make up for anything that could possibly be perceived as a shortcoming. In addition, it manages to be legitimately scary, something that not many Doom levels can still do. Also, the soundtrack to this is in my most-played songs list. It's that good. If you haven't played this yet, play it now. 5 stars. - esselfortium||x|
|Anonymous||its like a better daedalus. It was so scary, i was shitting towers and pissing lake. 5/5 - Xolzo and nice intro. you are as good as
scuba steve and enjay.||x|
|Anonymous||This wad is great. This isn't you're typical doom wad, but much more of a modern game.
I loved it, but it's really short and some areas could use some extra action like in the cryochamber( it could burst open and monsters come out or something).
YOu can really the work that has been put in the archtecture, music, athmosphere and the storey is well written too. Can't wait till hub 2 ( if it ever comes =( )
|Anonymous||Great wad definitely shows what can be done with Zdoom||x|
|Anonymous||This is so awesome that I creamed my pants!||x|
|Anonymous||5/5 for everything said above. The music alone would even merit this wad the same score.||x|
|Anonymous||What more can I say? Non-linear design in the format of a hub, puzzles, gameplay that is never overly challenging or dull (plenty of tenseness when health got a bit low and no health around), awesome music, excellently designed levels (and HUGE ones at that), very complex scripting (I have yet to figure out how the fans work, heh), and an actual story. This is by far one of the greatest wads ever created. Should hubs 2 & 3 be finished, this will without a doubt be the BEST wad series in existence. 5/5 -ace||x|
|Anonymous||Excellent levle design, great music, a very in-depth story, and great fights. What more could you want? 5/5 - evilhomerdoomer||x|
|Anonymous||Oh... my... GOD. This WAD is AMAZING!||x|
|Anonymous||u w1n t3h 1nt3rw3bz!!!11124351 oneelventy one!
Seriously. Its good. I recomend it beyond anything I've ever seen. --Masterofpsi||x|
|Anonymous||Even Jesus couldn't have done a better job.||x|
|Anonymous||Great atmosphere, great sounds, great design...
I dont like HUBs at all, but this completely rox 5/5 - Damned||x|
|Anonymous||BEST WAD IVE EVER PLAYED! damnit, it was so detailed i expected to look down and see a shadow, and i was using GZDOOM which made it even better!
puzzles: good. a bit hard in some places, though.
Difficulty: no probs except the hangar bit. Cyberdemon O_o'
Detail: ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!
Story: THE BEST EVER!
-Daemonic AKA. ARRTIKWolf.||x|
|Anonymous||5/5 It pwnz0rz. The game feels as if it is no longer Doom. The incredible Atmosphere of the levels had me playing over and over. However, I seem to have a problem. I seem to have MAJOR Lag on Deck5:Cargo and Engine control. Anyone know why?||x|
|Anonymous||Good, but getting stuck and trying to find out what to do is frustrating.
|Anonymous||Only the bestest wad ever.||x|
|Anonymous||This wad is awesome. I agree that some puzzles are overly complicated but the atmosphere is stunning. All the extra goodies put into this wad make it very fun to play. 5 stars||x|
|Anonymous||Great work. I'm looking forward to play the whole hub soon. 9/10||x|
|Anonymous||It's sort of scary at the intro.||x|
|Anonymous||Wow, a WAD that challenged me to have to use my fists here and there, rarely gave me the comfort of an abundant health percentage, and actually had intense battles I wasn't positive I'd survive through. Not too mention, challenge me with creative puzzles here and there. Awesome wad, the gameplay/story interface/difficulty made me kind of feel like I was playing a Marathon scenario on the Doom engine, which isn't a bad thing at all. Incredible use of the Doom engine.||x|
|Anonymous||THE best. Can't wait for more. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Impression, obviously a lot of effort has been put into it. Nice retro mid-90s drum'n'bass music, too. But suffers terribly from 'uncanny valley' effect; rather that feeling like a superior modern-day Doom level, it feels like a poor-quality commercial game from 1995 or thenabouts. Huge borrowings from Unreal and System Shock (with sounds from Operation: Flashpoint, I think).||x|
|Anonymous||you are a doom god or goddess||x|
|Anonymous||Two wads in 2004 rocked my socks, Action Doom and this. This is truly amazing and I cannot wait for the final product. 5 stars all the way.
|Anonymous||holy hell this is amazing. What an immersive wad! I would like to point to features which I feel do this wad harm. Firstly, all that computer hacking can get overly complicated. For new or casual Doomers, this would definitely be a problem. Secondly, the fights are often too simple to be enjoyed. I feel that the difficulty does not challenge more experienced Doomers and the gameplay does not vary in difficulty or pace, which is a shame. 4 Stars --- Starburst.||x|
|Anonymous||kinda good. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Even after a year, it's still awesome. And to that guy that can't solve the first puzzle: delete Doom from your hard-drive, your skill is not enough. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||It's very rare I can say this
DOESN'T NEED MORE IMPSE!
|Anonymous||/me likes way too damn fucking much||x|
|Anonymous||A lot of this is just, wow, I didn't think... wow.||x|
|Anonymous||This is the 1337est map ever. PWNZ ALL!!||x|
|Anonymous||I just sat here for an hour, trying to get through a door that says "pressure is to high." I shot out the little orange lights, but it didn't seem to do anything. This is WAY to hard.
|Anonymous||It rox my sox, like no other
5/5 stars - Kirby||x|
|Anonymous||Boring, repetitive. 3/5
This is doom for babys||x|
|Anonymous||After playing the ZDoom Community Map #1, I thought it couldn't get any better. Then this wad came along and kicked me in the nuts screaming "Wrong, bitch!".
5/5 - Ant||x|
|Anonymous||Very poilished. Nothing seem to have been left overseen. Gameplay and everything is stellar.
|Anonymous||Awesome! 6/5 -NMN||x|
|Anonymous||A true work of art. Beautiful, atmospheric, entertaining for hours, challenging but not undoable, and never, ever boring. I dare say that this is one of the greatest WADs I've ever seen - and I've literally played thousands.
I can't wait to see the next installment in the series! (there is gonna be one, isn't there?)
|Anonymous||Fantastic, nothing else, nothing more :D||x|
|Anonymous||The Best Ever? ||x|
|Anonymous||An epic adventure that has both reasonable gameplay and graphics. The difficulty can sometimes be very difficult, leaving you with very low health most of the time... that's not a problem at all! I can't wait for the next installment. 5/5 -Nestea||x|
|Anonymous||I need to try and steal your detailing knowledge. - cyber-menace||x|
|Anonymous||Two words... MAXIMUM OWNAGE!||x|
|Anonymous||The most interesting PWAD ever!||x|
|Anonymous||after looking at the screenshots was VERY impressed *insane* playing Quake !!! bigger more detailed (I went 'w0w' at the missing floor tiles screenshot)
Well done.. some marrage arrangement with Doom to be thinking of making this. I could do with your talent, also new monsters and weapons.. I would SCARE THE ALMIGHTY PANTS OFF YOU ALL!!!||x|
|Anonymous||If only the logbook didn't fuck up so often. :(||x|
|Anonymous||Ok, ok. Let me change my underpants over here and I'll come and tell you what I think... - Curunir||x|
|Anonymous||Greatest damn wad ever made. Unfortunately, the puzzles are annoying, but other than that, this wad has brought me back to playing doom. -Eternal Dreams||x|
|Anonymous||Fun but the details is a little too copy and paste||x|
|Anonymous||Its just great. Please give us more of this stuff... (They must have played System Shock a lot...)||x|
|Anonymous||The look of this wad is amazing. Makes it indeed look like a much, much, MUCH more modern game.
The gameplay of this wad may be different, but I think it works out pretty damn good. I usually don't find hubs to be very exciting (hexen's first hub for example), and the puzzles can be tedious, yet not annoying at the same time, so overall the gameplay is on-par with the detailing.||x|
|Anonymous||good (thats all i have to say||x|
|Anonymous||overrated, pretty boring :(||x|
|Anonymous||Legendary, the best, amazing, incredible, awesome. I simply cannot find faults in this hub. -Dron||x|
|Anonymous||Gameplay is fucking retarded (not enough ammo/health) but the mapping quality is 1337. -Giest118||x|
|Anonymous||Instant classic, one of the best zdoom wads thus far||x|
|Anonymous||5 for the music and sound alone - Szymanski||x|
|Anonymous||Really great stuff; More, more, more, more...||x|
|Anonymous||This is the best ZDoom map ever. Download it now of god's sake.||x|
|Anonymous||Best Zdoom wad ever||x|
|Anonymous||Nice style but gameplay? Forget about it. There are far too few monsters and too many frustrating puzzles. 2/5||x|
|Anonymous||Awesome wad :) -Dron||x|
|Anonymous||Best ZDOOM wad ever||x|
