adventurous and good with different paths for progression.x

This was quite fun but as I got as far as the ice monster I didn't have a clue how to beat it. Voting 4 stars instead of 5 since it's easy to get stuck later on through it without any idea on how to progress any further.x

Hopkins must be one of the most creative people to ever open up a Doom editor. This project shows that he's not only mastered basic mapping, but also has a good handle on advanced ZDoom features, scripting, and custom content. Furthermore, the story he tells and the puzzles he presents are every bit as good as AAA adventure titles. Absolutely epic. 5/5 stars, legendary.x

huge non linear gameplay, with lots of puzzles, had great fun wandering and exploring the world in this game. x

Legendary. Just like this vote. Everyone who gives it lower than a 3 problably doesn't know the difference between a good and a bad wad. - T.U.Ax

This is just a fucking hunk of unplayable crap. This was not made in Doom spirit. Doom is a FPS, is not a fucking RPG. 0/5x

Even though I may not be patient enough for a wad like this, I did try to get as far as I could. I kept playing for days to find out how to beat it even with the walkthough, which was no help at all because it only loosely described things. It kind of reminds of those old video games where there is no possible way to beat it. Besides, the endings I hear about would destroy any feeling of accomplishment.x

This is definitely not doom, however this doesn't mean that this wad is 'bad'. With its unique theme, great scripting, and compelling gameplay, I highly recommend playing this wad so you may find out yourself.x

Beautiful WAD...simply beautiful. It's one of the most attractive Doom WADs I've ever seen, and the use of ambient sounds instead of music really amps up the atmosphere. However, it's really just "beauty over brains." The gameplay is ridiculously confusing, and I found myself lost not even half-way through. There's no...linear structure to the gameplay; it just feels like a jumbled mess. So, you really feel like you're just wandering around, hoping to get lucky. 2/5x

"First off, this mod isn't doom. So don't expect it to play like doom." 4/5 for the wad and +1 star for the downvoting by that guy. :)x

Pretty good, I think the idea is worthwhile and your implementation was mostly excellent. Unfortunately I encountered a bug in the GLOAM map where all the ambient sounds start playing simulanteously at full volume; it disappears when you leave the map, but persists when you return to the map, or even restore from a save point if you made the mistake of saving when the ambient sound problem occurs. Restarting and playing with options menu didn't help. x

garbage. not doom at all. 0/5x

When I played this, I was tense, and I thank the awesome music for that. The music and the lack of the nmber of enemies (on easy) made me jump so many times. It's actualy a pretty scary game if you're in the right mind. And this was done with levels that had blue skies if you know what I mean. Story could have used more journal entries for more depth. It could have used more variety in types of areas. On the map it looked like I would eventually be exploring a volcano, but it was something else.Inspringx

WOW!~ Definantly a very wel;l build map. Good storyline, and very challenging puzzle gameplay. One of the best constucted map i've seen in a while. 5/5 -r_rr.x

Everything about this wad is legendary. From detail to gameplay, this wad does it all. My only complaint were the endings. Even the good endings was a bit depressing. Although you saved the world, you still paid a heavy price. The sacrifice you made put you into a vegetative state that you would likely never recover from.x

I was wondering if such an adventure game would be possible with Zdoom scripting engine and now I can see and play it! Riddles are not that hard but it makes you running around searching for objects, big and chaotic but a great exploration world. Sometimes it slows down and gives me the motion sickness but I can understand it's not easy to make it run smooth. Ok,. after a point I tried the walkthrough but that's because of the motion sickness and wanted to finish this gem fast! 5/5 - Optimusx

Looks good but can be pretty damned boring, like most adventure games.x

This is an example of perfect execution of a good concept. The scripting was amazing, and it had a definitely original feel to it. 5/5 SMGx

Wow. just wow. After so many hours of playing, brain-crushing, i finally finish this wad. I first gave up, but then i had my patience back, and finished it. At some times it was very annoying, that i didnt know what to do, my head almost exploded! Doing it seemed a very long time, but if i think back, it was short. I love it very much. Though i wouldn't dare to do it again. :D 5/5 One of best wads i've ever played!!! -Dancsox

Holy crap. This map made my head a splode, it was that good. I havne't gotten the second ending yet, but I'm quite certain I missed entire maps. x

Painful painful painful. Clearly a lot of effort and innovation has gone into this wad, but those two things do not a fun time make. The gameplay is boring as all hell, and the combat is an exercise in frustration with no supplies to back you up. I realise it's not Doom, but that's not an excuse to make a dull boring "Guess the next gimmick to advance" fest.x

Way too repetitive and too much item hunting.x

I haven't finished it entirely. I did get all the way to the credits, but of course, I didn't complete everything and get the full ending, but i'm working on it. Exploration is great, and there is serious sense of a chievement to EVERYTHING you do, every discovery makes you feel good, when you uncover some secret hidden area. Not to spoil anything, but just before entering the ice area and seeing what surrounds you is a classic moment, and the bosses are clever.x

I enjoyed this. It reminded me of the old dinosaur game Trespasser, or the first Tomb Raider game, or Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, or one of those old graphic text adventures. I can envisage an alternative world where someone licensed the Doom engine in 1994 and made this instead of (for example) Chex Quest. It's a bit slow-paced although in the light of Hellcore 2.0 it doesn't seem so bad in this respect. Someone hire this man now.x

The wad is pretty darn good, but if there were any needed changes, i'd say it needs new music. What is up with the dark, creepy music anyway? tropical islands aren't supposed to be dark and scary! Besides that, once you consume 5 hours of your life playing it, the ending is lame. But all in all, a very good wad. 4/5 Oh, and F.Y.I. to the guy who said the rock formations need more slopes: You can't put slopes over water in GZdoom for some reason.x

This damn thing needs a walk through. Awesome wad though 5/5 --Captain Redx

Very very very good. Very imaginative! A welcome change from the usual single doom wads. Could of used more weapons, bigger variety of enemies and maybe a better boss fight. More journal entries would of been appreciated also. However this was a very fun wad to play through, 5/5!x

The Myst of Doom WADs. Whether you consider this a good or bad thing is up to taste. You have to admire it for what it achieves, though.x

A Doom masterpiece. Definitely takes you back to the era of point-and-click adventure games, but this time it's not point-and-click; it's in first person. 5/5 stars.x

Well, what can I say? The gameplay tends to get boring, but you had me hooked until the end. Both of 'em. The visuals are rather impressive, and all in all, a good game experience, I think. 4/5x

Good sides - Huge nonlinear levels, puzzle-based gameplay, lots of interesting story development and quite hard, but still adjustable combat. At times it felt like an adventure/rpg game rather than a shooter. Bad sidez -too evident lack of ambient sounds, the underwater looks very unnatural (water haze friend..), the rock formations in most cases look too damn sqaure. A bit more slopes would remedy the situation. Nevertheless, a huge effort by the author. 4 stars.x

Amazing, and quite different. Never seen a wad like this before... 5/5x

So far I've played up to Hallowed and I have to say that architecturally this wad is incredible. However I really hate the extent to which the player has to walk to and fro in a bid to work out what to do and where to go next. At first the concept didn't bother me, but after 2 hrs of play I think my patience has started to strain, if you know what I mean. Suppose this were a commercial game. Would the average, casual gamer enjoy walking around this much? It's subject to debate, I'm sure. 5/5x
