|bzzrak||The levels in the middle of the game are truly awesome. I like to replay them from time to time. Looking forward to 2.0.||x|
|joe-ilya||Boring play, good looks.||x|
|DooManic||Originally a commercial addon, this was leater rereleased as freeware. Unfortunately it's lacking the final levels as it was never really finished. Aged extremely well and comes with all changed graphics and sounds, making for a game feeling very different from Doom (except the shooting itself, of course). Can be played as a standalone IWAD, so why are you still reading this?||x|
|Voros||An add-on. Now an IWAD. It is that good.
While the levels are EXTREMELY complex, even for MAP01, just makes the whole thing more unique. The ugly pistol weilding thugs, the robotic shotgun, the fat rocket launcher AND chaingunner and so on.
The challenge is pretty sweet.
|Jacob_jub||I dont really like it.||x|
|Anonymous||Awesome ! I really like the game older version , but some things like the lighting seems pretty odd to me , now looks great :33||x|
|Anonymous||Always have liked this.Now it plays a hell of a lot better.
|Doomkid||Good sprite work and level design for something so old.||x|
|Anonymous||Cacodemon is an mirror? :/
|Anonymous||There are balance issues, and there are vast areas without health then lots with loads of health. From a gameplay perspective it isn't fantastic.||x|
|VGA||This is a great game, haven't finished it yet, but it has some very meaty maps and satisfying guns.
Plus it is historically important, it was a commercially released game after all.||x|
|Anonymous||Hacx Is LEDGENDARY!!! thx Banjo Software for this great wad. Better than QUAKE! 55 -xxxexplosivexxx||x|
|Anonymous||one of the monsters still blocks you when its dead. this can block passageways||x|
|Anonymous||Thumbs up all the way! I really like the weapons, but not the amount of ammo that you have. It would be nice if you made a HACX Weapons WAD. But for right now, 5/5 for you.||x|
|Anonymous||I was having trouble running version 2.0 with Doomsday engine, so thanks. ||x|
|Anonymous||Obviously a LOT of effort went into this and it shows, if this was released 10 years ago you'd be picked up by a professional publisher in no time but even then it's a great effort.
I got stuck in a room, don't know if this was intended or a bug I also dislike the Ghetto handling of the Uzi LOL.
Well done overall! I'll definitely give it another shot.||x|
|Anonymous||One of THE BEST EVER!!!||x|
|Anonymous||^ They are making 2.0! It's actually been in development all these years, they're just taking their time!
|Anonymous||I really hope they continue making 2.0 in the future, I really enjoyed this game, I know it's 2013 but this game hasn't lost it's charm.||x|
|Anonymous||Just finished first level. Great new look for doom. Looking forward to the next 20 levels.
5 out of 5
|Anonymous||An excellent (now-free) 'independent' game from the late 1990s. HACX2 is shaping to be an even better experience.||x|
|Anonymous||10/10/10 lol! ***** for HACX!!!||x|
|Anonymous||hard as hell. but really rare. 5star!||x|
|Anonymous||Awesome mod! And this version can even be used directly as an IWAD with Chocolate Doom. Doesn't get any better than this. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||This is definitely one of the most incredible modifications I've ever seen. Fantastic gameplay, deeply immersive. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Wow, re-re-released ! If that's not legendary, I don't know what is !||x|
|Anonymous||nice map 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Pretty good, thanks!||x|
|Anonymous||http://www.doomworld .com/idgames/?id=140 31 is where you can download the unaltered, original full version.||x|
|Anonymous||For 1997, it's a decent TC, but still, it wasn't that great. I can forgive the switchhunts etc., but what really got me was the graphics quality; sprites, textures etc. just weren't suited for a 256 color palette, and it showed. This is something that's true for many older TCs, of course, but DOOM itself got it right. Play so you can say "I played it", but beyond that, there's (much) better material out there now.||x|
|Anonymous||I guess it starts okay, but the levels get boring and redundant, and the enemies aren't really all that hard and/or interesting. Feels like the designer got bored halfway through and started recycling the levels with minor changes. It shows effort, but feels incomplete and unsubstantial.||x|
|Anonymous||you worked hard but it is unfamiliar..||x|
|Anonymous||Basically, this is a Zdoom version. Use Hacx 1.1 with anything else. Why delete the REJECT lumps? Why rename all the MUSIC lumps and then rely on dehacked to match them up? Not every port supports that, and it means there is an error if you warp to a non-Hacx level. I could go on, because there are other things too (e.g. maxhealth), but you get the picture. The whole idea of an "iwad version" is a cheap trick. You just need to rip a few lumps from the Doom2 iwad & slap them in. Legitimate? Not really.||x|
|Anonymous||HELL YEAH! HACX WORKS WITH ZDOOM NOW! 5/5 just for that. ~Joe Anderson||x|
|Anonymous||Can't wait for 2.0.||x|
|Anonymous||Hacx is an *okay* game, it's good AND bad. Sprites and weapon concepts are nice but the enemies are annoying and the level layout is boring.
|Anonymous||rofl this piece of shit is actually popular? I'd rather play Chex Quest..||x|
|Anonymous||Oh, how nice! HacX is finally fun and playable. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||Obligatory 5 stars for you sir. 5/5||x|
|Anonymous||cant believe someone amde a new version so recently. I only just heard of this, and just before tried playing it.
Weird how it all just came together....||x|
