Spectre01
Legendary wad with incredible aesthetics, clever puzzles and secrets and surprisingly devious gameplay for an adventure wad. 5 Archviles spawning behind you out of 5x50 Revenants coming from the front. x

Los 20 primeros niveles, muy bien, el resto tedioso, matar por matar. De 5/5 a 2/5. Lo siento.x
Pinchy
Mostly fantastic apart from the switch re-hunt in map 28 and having to shotgun so many hell knights and barons.x

This wad is absolutely amazing and goes to show why Eternal is one of my favorite mappers. He really nails the 90's mapping style(think Requiem, Eternal DOOM, etc.) while managing to create something unique as well. I loved the gameplay and the occasional switch hunts were right up my alley. The architecture is excellent - typical of Eternal. Outstanding work 5/5!!x

This and BTSX are perfect example of what classy new textures and great aesthetics can do for vanilla compatible wad. Fantastic looking megawad, from start to finish.x

it's like if vanilla Doom was immersed into a whole new theme or dimension. it looks and feels great and atmospheric and everything.x

One of the very very best mega WADs I've seen so far, and I've played hundreds of levels at least. All new textured, the egyptian and alien themes make the feeling within the levels so different. And the author used some cool tweaks within the DOOM engine to create wonderful architecture. Only the last 2 levels (#29 + #30) are too monster loaded so I skipped them.x

This is a good wad for some coop/survival fun. Playing in solo can be a touch more repetitive and perhaps the balance a bit off (tight, though perhaps HMP is better) but the architecture is the usual Eternal standard and I'm glad I went through most of the levels at least once so it gets a four from me. Just don't quite expect a Hell Ground quality experience.x

A truly Godlike megaWAD.x
Aebeatia Sookies
This is architecturally wonderful but is dire to play. From the outset this should of be simpler and cleaner.x

Loved it. Absolutely one of my top five favorite megawads. If you're a seasoned doom veteran and know how to strafe you'll be fine. Just have quicksave handy. The level architecture is gorgeous, no lying. 5 out of 5 stars!x

Absolutely superb megawad. The excellent use of Exhumed / Powerslave textures and atmospheric music just absorbed me right into the game. What an experience that was. Alexander is one of the best mappers going, and one to watch! 5 stars from me, no question. -TRRobin.x

very goodx

Interesting gameplay but a serious lack of ammo, at least in the first levels. I ran out at lvl 4 or 5.x

Best wad I have ever played. An example of wad making perfection. The title is apt. 5/5x

Visuals and gameplay are good, he could even make a vanilla compatible wad that can take real benefits from advenced OpenGl ports. I spend lots of good hours in those maps 5/5x

I loved Map 27 (Luxor) with it's 100's of Revenants but NOT Map 28 due to 100's of Revenants!! I got past the first huge 'circle strafe' only to find there was a LOT more to come - To be honest it was TOO MUCH and did my head in. 'Hell Revealed' did a better job of throwing loads at you and the Balance was better. For example, there is nothing worse then battling through Hell with just 6 percent health left only to find there's a blue health orb...But it's not (easily) possible to get too. x

OMG this wad is just amazing. Visually appealing and excellent gameplay. Deadall is the best wad author EVER!x

Single player can rub the wrong way sometimes, but coop is a masterpiece once you use some of the wads to optimize its play. Survival @ 2 or 3 lives is just killer, honestly, a real blast. There's no denying in any mode that the maps are designed well and look very nice.x
Anonymous
^Very true, in fact this is one of the only megawads I know of that wasn't specifically designed to support coop but is easily the most fun on survival, better than solo IMO. x
Anonymous
Great wad, its fun to play it with a lot of people in survival mod, very recommended! x

Hands down, one of the best WAD makers out there. Do svidaniya.x

The egyptian theme might be a bit much considering over 20 of the maps are this theme, but there are some absolute masterpieces in this wad. Especially the Alien episode. Can't fault the gameplay really in my opinion. 4 starsx

Excellent map set, been playing this on and off on ZDaemon for a while now. Really enjoy the Egyptian setting. On the other hand the levels can be too vast and confusing at times which is a bit of a turn-off. 4/5.x

another overated wad map design is maybe great but custom monsters and sounds make the gameplay not that fun 3/5x

Epic Mapset as the title I love it!x

oh yeah, played UV with prboom-gl -turbo 255. It is probably very much more lethal without the turbo, what with all the rockets, revenant and vile blasts...x

In my opinion this is actually more fun if you use the ZDaemon survival server and maybe get another player or two to come along as regenerating items really does some work in fixing the frustrating gameplay elements. 3.5/5 in solo and 4.25/5 on ZDaemon Survival servers = 3.875/5 rounded up to 4/5 overall. BTW today's the 1 year anniversary of the first release and I wonder if Eternal will pump out his western themed project to mark it! Nov 23, 2011 - MegaDoomerx

Can't fault the layouts at all, but the constant use of Revenants and inexplicably cheap encounters quickly turns this one into a chore. 3/5x

Great job, too bad you have to noclip to beat map 14. What was up with those silly elemental symbols that didn't do anything? Also didn't appreciate how monsters were constantly appearing in front, behind, above and below me out of nowhere for no discernible reason. Annoying. 5 stars -2 = 3 stars from me. -wavelengthx

a good megawad that kept me playing right till the end. 4/5x

Well-constructed maps with some big battles.x

Brainless gameplay. Tediousness equivalent to HR at times. Great graphics, but meh gameplay, which is important. There's almost no balance at times.x

Does not measure up to the greatness of Epic 1. Architecture is improved, but gameplay is so-so, ranging from obnoxious cheap ambushes in the early maps to tedious slaughtermaps to sprawling, head-smashingly complicated Eternal Doom-style maps (map28 appears to be a remake of The Dark Dome from Eternal Doom, only with the switches even harder to find). Also it's just too damn long for the themes and ideas it presents. 3/5 --Wooliex

awesome wad!!!x

Several floor switches in MAP30 don't seem to work in GZDoom? Still great, though.x
Anonymous
EPIC as hell. I should give it 5 but due I got boring totally on later huge killing levels(Map26-29),tha t's just shame but maybe it's my problem... :p But this shit still a masterpiece...yeah, it is definitely. 4.5/5 -playerlin (Well, it still a 5 due the voting system of doomworld! XD)x
Anonymous
Another excellent piece of work. Not as impressive on any single level as some levels from "Hell Ground" (IMO Hell Ground Map07 in particular has to be in my all time top 5 for Doom maps), but the inclusion of 32 generally high quality levels earns this a 5.x

Newstuff review hits this masterpiece on the money. 5/5x

Great Atmosphere. A challenging and gripping wad that pulls you in and doesn't let you go. 5/5x

A bit too much of switch hunting at times, but the levels are good.x

good job! 5/5x

All the themes of levels felt samey. This is probably because it's one person making map after map. It doesn't help that there are only two styles (not threee or four like UDoom) of maps. I guess Eternal is the new Slige, judging from the samey blandness of maps and the fact that he's a mapping computer programmed by IBM. Besides, the first epic.wad is hugely better and it has an extremely better tower level. Shame the first didn't have a single alien ship level.x

Excellent - PFLx

My only complaint is that it could have used a different theme on the last maps. But yeah fuck it, 5/5.x

Atmospheric, kept me playing more than most.x

In this wad, a logical chain between maps can be felt. Certainly, an abundance of similar Egyptian-themed maps - wad's minus,a little one, but they are short they don't bother you much. I will especially note it's second episode, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 maps and the third episode, with maps 21 and 29 - in my opinion, the best in this wad. The story, begun by Epic1, at last has received an end. 4.5(5)/5 -Shadowman.x

I have to agree with some of the people here about the repetitiveness of the wad. This isn't as fun as Epic 1. The alien levels were somewhat a nice change of pace, but overall there doesn't seem to be enough variation in terms of the texture usage. A lot of the levels were the same brown textures. 3/5x

A fantastic megawad by one of the greatest mappers going. The rather unsettling MAP11 and the Eternal Doom 3 inspired MAP28 in particular are standouts, but the overall excellence displayed in this unusually themed mapset certainly makes it worth playing. 5 very well deserved stars -Phobusx

OMG, my favorite mapper delivers once again! The opening of level one Just says it all, doesn't it? The atmosphere is so incredible, the placement of everything - including the vases - is impeccable. The pacing is masterful - fast and slow - the battles are surprising, the rooms are varied. And I've only played the first two levels - can't wait to go further! Just wow, wow, wow, wow, and I'm a harder critic than most people. Thank you very much and best wishes. 6/5.x

I got bored. The gameplay is boring and the texture usage is bland. The adventure/puzzle elements only make it more boring.x

An instant classic. Good stuff. Definitely 5/5 star material. - TwelveEyesx

gameplay is so bad I was annoyed every 5 minutes by hidden switches and shitty traps!x
Anonymous
If you like brown bricks, this is the wad for you! Everything is a brown brick here, walls, doors, switches... gameplay is a mixed bag, I felt it was very repetitive and got boring after 10 maps... 3/5x

Legendary indeed - visuals and gameplay are brill, it's a truly great wad.x

I got nothing to say. I mean, the title speaks for itself.x

Not as good as his more abstract works (eden.wad or Thirty two inch nails...or Hellground) but still a great set.4/5x

Wow! One of the best wads this year definitely. Up there with Speed of Doom. Atmosphere is great (which I was worried I wouldn't like), difficulty is high, plays a bit like plutonia (except for the last few maps, they're like Hell Revealed). Anyway, 5 stars from me for making me use actual strategy to get through fights. -DH85x

Pretty darn good.x

Well done. It'll surely take place in my collection of wads. 4/5, SKP.x

Fuck yeah, this wad is an atmospheric masterpiece! Best DooM 2 wad released this year for sure. Gameplay is challenging as hell and starts getting insane on UV in the last few levels. So HMP is reccommended for casual DooMers. Anyway, 5/5 from me. - DeathevokatioNx
