Brilliant :) Map 03 and 04 have got to be my favorites of the set. x
Spectre01
Pretty good tbh but the Valiant moon episode was better in every way.x

a quick set with some good gameplay.x

Layout, texture use, decoration and ambiance: solid 4*. Gameplay @ UV starts promising, despite too many dull snipers. But hereafter it turns into an endlessly repeated slaughter of the simplemost kind: enter room - room is locked - huge monster spawns - create infighting - wait until almost all monsters are dead - kill the remainings - enter next scene. IOW: totally predictable and monotonous gameplay ruins the adventure completely. It's not difficult, just plain soulless and boring. Whát a pity...x

This is often compared to Vanguard, but it doesn't play quite the same way, as the opposition here is both more lightweight and much more devious. Regardless, it's very satisfying. The fights are great, the custom enemies work perfectly and put on some interesting pressure on the player, and Skillsaw nailed the arcade space shooter feeling to a T. Of course, expect one of his typical easy-ish slaughtermaps. One big downside: compared to most of his other solo work, this one's over too quickly.x

Skillsaw's mapping style is among the best of the modern DOOM mappers. His levels are just super-fun to play. Great architecture, great gameplay, and the last level with its very appropriate music took this wad to the next level and secured it as legendary. 5/5, an absolute blast!x

No doubt, the outdoor area has a great environment. That's what sold me on this wad. But, unfortunately, the maps quickly devolve from a fun, "watch your step" type setup and into relentless, brutal, and tedious traps. And, to boot, there are Nazis (looks like it to me) on the Moon (wtf? this is Doom, not Wolfenstein 3D). 1/5 for a good outdoor environment. And this promising wad is going in my Recycle Bin—what a shame.x

I really liked the space theme and the gameplay which was challenging and "fast". Nice new monsters to accompany the space theme were great. I didn't like the music though. A bit hyper and zany. Still excellent fun though, bravo. 4/5. -TRRobin.x

An absolute masterpiece! Brilliantly themed and designed, fun music, action that quickly gets out of hand, and one of the most insane and rewarding endings I've ever experienced from a map set. Save often. 5/5x

Cool new monsters, nice, but undistinguished maps (3-4-5). 3 star.x

Some good stuff, but it became impossible to advance without cheating. Music was so-so. 3 outta 5.x

Superb. Enjoyed every single second of these maps. Wasn't able to complete the fifth map without idkfa/iddqd but hey, I am a wuss :) well worth the download. The custom music is great and made me laugh on the fifth map!! Loved it!! Graphics are amazing, the detail is stellar and the use of lighting and shade is superb, great stuff (loved the sky)!x

A great little episode with a distinct setting and the quality of level design we've come to expect from Skillsaw. It also doesn't get as difficult as Vanguard, which might be a plus depending on your tastes. Fun stuff! 5/5x

I don't know, its something deadly wrong about this wad. Looks cool, plays OK (if a bit boring), but leaves no trace in soul. I'd say its the case of being "too excellent". 3*x

Awesome, even it still too hard for me in Map05! xD It's a bit to boring in later levels so I glad it didn't too long! 5/5 -playerlinx

should have been longerx

I loved it. The desing of the maps was smart and together with new textures, monsters and music brought really unique atmosphere. I finished it in an hour, but it was great time. 5/5 - Damnedx

Level design is excellent! Reminded me a bit of the second Duke Nukem 3D episode "Lunar Apocalpyse". However, major difference is difficulty. Your adrenaline level will be constantly high in this action-filled mini episode. Especially the last map is a massive slaughter which gets progressively worse. Maybe it could have been a bit easier especially on the lower difficulty levels, but in general, you'll have lots of fun playing this. The only question is: Where are the other 27 maps? 5/5 - NightFrightx

Level 3, too fucking laggy and froze my computer up. Lol.x

should have been longer only 5 maps a shamex

Fantastic little level pack. The Tyrian music made me well up with nostalgia.x

more levels please! also 5*x

Great leveldesign and setting, top-notch gameplay, cool new enemies. This mapset has only one flaw - it's too short! 5/5 - Demonologistx

The first four maps are very good, but the last is an awful, dismal, TERRIBLE level. Who thought a monster flood of that magnitude would be a good idea?x

Skillsaw's best work to date, which is saying something! *****x

cracking map set based on the moon, good mix of outdoor and indoor "tech-style levels" The music ranges from good to cheesy (haha yep map05) The difficulty is hard but pretty standard for modern wads. The last map is exceptionally good with a great concept. Probably a 4.5 star wad but hey I'll round it up to five. - cannonballx

Wow, great theme! Most levels played very nicely too. A bit tough but fair final map. 5/5 - Optimusx

Great mapset with an absolutely epic slaughterhouse at the end! Difficulty is fair.x

Really awesome map set. No surprise as it's skillsaw here! I loved the lunar theme and the visuals of each map were executed in a very professional way. The gameplay was definite tough, but I was able to clear each map on UV with after a few tries (thought I beat MAP05 of my first try!). Without a doubt a must-see and must-play map set! -Mekx

The maps look good, but the gameplay, and music (except for MAP02, which was great) ruined the game. It's obvious that he was more interested in detailing the ceilings of his maps instead of making maps that are fun to fight in, since there are a lot of flat areas in his maps, even in intense combat situations where height variation is needed most. MAP02 had some interesting *horizontal* places you could dodge into to avoid fire in the building, but it wasn't enough to save this map pack. 3/5x

Brilliant - lots of fun, and looks great (I love the hard light/shadow in the first few maps). My only complaint: I wish it was longer. Well, that, and the exit lift didn't work in Map01. Still, 5/5. - ZZx

^ Too hard? Do you know that is not required by law to play in ultraviolence? Easy for me, maybe you are very bad player. 4/5x

too hard...no time to escape 2/5x

absolutely awesome. x

Awesome wad. Music is cool, but couple tracks don't really match the game. Difficulty gets really high really fast. I still haven't beat the last level, I like playing on UltraViolent and I would rather not have to choose HurtMePlenty. Probably impossible on NightMare. *****x

Haha... well realised Doom2 sci-fi-ish conversion. The new enemies are ace.x
Anonymous
Very, very, very fun mapset. Some part have a slaughter-like feel, and the mapset overall is quite difficult, even on Hurt Me Plenty. The design is absolutely awesome, and I had to reload many times. New enemies were cool too. One thing you might want to note is that, on Final Countdown, even if you die by the Arch-vile, you can get lifted to the top and finish the level. 5/5. -dbsw57x

It's not Vanguard but it still merits the highest rating.x

Good mapset, but gameplay is a bit boring. Music sounds like hell. 3.5/5x

You know an author's truely exceptional when I unhestitantly vote five stars for one of their releases and yet can clearly say it's not their best work. That is the case here (comparing to Vanguard). 5/5 - MegaDoomerx

Not bad, only problem is the terrible music choice. -the_afritx

Great wad! Only 4 stars, though, since the gameplay balance was all over. Also, personally, I thought the music didn't match the levels perfectly.x
Anonymous
^You mean "Doom" wad, right? But yeah, this wad is badass! I give it 5 stars!x
Anonymous
Awesome, a perfect example on how a good classic Boom wad should be. The new enemy was an excellent touch.x

You will not feel like a lunatic for downloading this. Trust me!!x

The only thing better than the maps themselves is the brilliant backstory. 55555/5x
