Call me crazy if you want, but I like MM1 better. This is still okay in co-op, though.x

Still holds up even to this day. Truly a classic.x

A 90's masterpiece and still great today! Beautiful and creative.x

OMG Map29 . . . KINGS OF METAL . . . holla sheet . . . the combination of wood structuring and the layout, one of the best maps ive ever played in any FPS even including modern ones.x

well it's obvious that MM2 has aged quite well. many still like it to this day and it produced more quality maps than it's predecessor. it remains replayable as an old-skool wad with a very nice soundtrack. it's enjoyable, like pizza.x

Now this is what I'd call great. Unlike it's predecessor, this mapset mostly exceeds the iwads in regards to gameplay and aesthetics. I'd argue its the first truly great megawad. Only bad map is Map20, with its boring, linear gameplay.x

Excellent mapset. The levels are generally good, and some are plain excellent. Well-balanced gameplay, interesting fights. It's not as graphically spectacular as many modern mapsets but it's still a great way to pass the time. x
sincity2100
It has it's ups and downs, but it's a lot better than the original MM ,It has a plenty of good maps except map29 and it was designed by the same guy who designed this garbage map28 from the original MM,yeah, Jens Nielsen tries to suck the life out of my enjoyment of any doom game I play.x

Best of the bests, even today. Great level design, awesome graphics/music.x

This was a pretty damn good play. Some of the early levels make it a bit difficult to get hooked in (MAP04 mainly), but the later levels make up for it by a great shot. I'm not sure if I could declare it better than Memento Mori I, but it is pretty damn fun (especially with MSPD or Fast Monsters in Multiplayer). 4/5. -Argentvm/Zakurumx

To enjoy all these old classics (MM, MM2, Icarus and Requiem) at its fullest, play with DOSBOX or with Chocolate Doom! 5/5 -Doomer95x

The first Memento Mori was already good, and MM2 manages to be even better! You gotta love these classic wads, they have a certain classic charm about them. Anyway this is full 5 stars easy. Play it! -TRRobin.x

Like many community releases, it has some hodge-podgey aspects. But the TiC memebers (Thomas/Dennis Moeller), Mattias Worch, Adam Windsor, Orin Flathary, and Jens Neilson definitely contributed all good maps, and there are other good levels as well from authors that just don't come to my mind as easily. I think it holds up better than the prequel, even though MM1 does have some cool exclusive niches that may light some people's fires.x

I personally prefer this the Memento mori, I think the visuals and gameplay on the whole is superior and looked like the mappers had learnt from whatever mistakes they have made before. Probably my favourite wad of the 90s. 5 starsx

Truly a masterpiece. It's hard to imagine improving on the already excellent first one, but they did. Deserving of no less than 5 stars.x

all we really need to avoid are the commentaries like the above. an excellent wad, deserves all the hype it gets.x

overrated like any old or era megawad, map are ugly and they have no atmosphere , no "personality",that suck definitely avoidx

One of my first megawads ever played! Truly one of those gems not to be missed!x

Better than the first Memento Mori! I found that one to be a bit disappointing, but this is great! Like it's predecessor, it's more fun when played on co-op, but also good on single-player as well. This goes into my favourites along with HR, Requiem and Scythe. 4/5x

5/5 - Simply amazing in architecture, detail, and difficulty in a much more intimate environment. There's maybe one real stinker (MAP20) but the rest are phenomenal. My only true complaint is with authors who decide to play "Hide the SSG". -KMX E XIIx

Didn't really like starting with the hellish themes, but this megawad certainly offers plenty of high-quality levels to be expected from the same authors of the first Memento Mori. Though I prefer the first one, this one still has its charm (especially for it's time). ~vfx

If you asked me on the day it was released, I'd say Memento Mori 2 is the best wad ever. No doubts. Even now it's still great.x

Top notch work. Architecture, gameplay, innovation you name it, amazing quality not only for it's time but even today. Very suitable for Coop with a non-linear style employed at times and even to this I consider MM2 to have the best soundtrack, not a single song that doesn't stick to your mind. MAP24 was beautiful in this respect for it's unique solemn approach.x

More consistent and technically more polished than its predecessor. First six maps are a real mixed bag, but after that, it stays at a high quality (save for a couple of maps). Map25 is an insta-fave. Overall great fun. -Snakesx

It's got everything MM 1 had and much more! I didn't think it was possible but MM 2 is actually better than MM 1, which is an ultimate classic! This WAD duo is highly recommended because they're absolutely perfect.x

The above reviewer unfortunately doesn't understand the awesomeness of this classic. I really find it amazing that they were able to make new maps, music and textures just months after the original back in 1996. Philnemba 5/5x

awesome wad it follows the same style as the first memento mori and quite a good challenge i recommend this to all good doomers!x

memento mori 2 makes me happy even to this day 4/5x

Not really final. This can be considered as TNT remake, because takes place on Io, same as Evilution.x
Anonymous
My only complaints is that this wasn't as hellish as the first MM, and that some of the levels are a little cramped. Other than that, its a good wad.x

Just Great!!! Awesome!!!!x

Incredible. Design, gameplay, music, all is phenomenal. 8,537/5 (if i could)x

Excellent megawad for 1996 with plenty of texture goodness and gameplay. I sometimes found it a bit confusing in some levels. -Mr. Chrisx

Like the original MM, but bigger. Sadly the gameplay is not quite as good, and we don't get the smooth progression level to level either, its sort of like we're jumping randomly from WAD to WAD. Still many brilliant levels though.x

One of best megawads we have. It deserves no less than 5 starsx

Outstanding megawad!x

As with the former M.Mori, this wad has a distinct feel to it, and holds a special place in the heart of most long time doomers. If we get painfully objective, this is a mediocre showcase but understandably good enough to gain reputation back in the days. Several maps hold their own against recent releases, but like in my other reviews I enjoy pointing out that we are talking about "relative" quality here. A nostalgia trip nontheless. 3/5 stars. -Johnsenx

One of the reasons I believe 1996 yielded some of the best wads in the /idgames directory. MM2 has nice layouts with interesting new textures and Mark Klem's awesome music. The gameplay of course, is the best part about the wad. While the designers did put some thought into the project's looks, it is obvious they thought about the gameplay itself (which should be priority in a wad anyway.) 5/5. -Vavaciousx

What the above guy means with technique is beyond me, however MM 2 deserves NO less than 5 stars. I remember my first playthrough very fondly, it doesn´t get any better or classic than this. *****x

I know everyone has given this game a high score, but I can't help that say that in my opinion this is terrible. The levels have no tectnique. At least the original was good. Download zBloodpack for skulltag for an old school feel with depth and technique. x

mm,hr,av,requiem.. What can we say about this wads?CLASSIC.5/5 - Memfisx
Anonymous
One of the Doom classics for sure. The maps generally look nicer than MM1 and play just as well. Many of the maps even stand up amazingly well today, despite their 11-year age. When this was released (in 1996), its quality was unmatched, even more so than MM1. 5/5 is a given for this awesome wad!x
Anonymous
This is one of the greatest megawads ever created. It exceeds the quality of the first Memento Mori. It has excellent music too. This is one megawad every Doomer should play at least once! 5/5x
Anonymous
I couldn't aggree more, Requiem (id:8194) is, in my oppinion, the best add-on wad ever and this is nowhere near as good. The level of technical excellence and eye for detailing remained at 100% for Requiem, but seems to drop off with Memento Mori II as the levels proggressed. Still a 4 star wad though and well worth the download. 4.5/5x

I really like this MW,yet somehow after playing it more than once(and i've done that with all the vanilla and classic custom MWs)it just doesn't have a same place in my heart as ultra polished requiem or much cruder yet unforgettable mm1.Why?I just find something intimidating about the level progression(it somehow starts more promising than it ends),gameplay is a major drawback to many levels.Often fustrating and overly complex it just misses this "final touch" and atmosfere of a true classic.4/5x

One of the greatest classic Megawads ever assembled. It's a must-play for any Doom fan.x

Another great megawad, this is really one of the best, though Map 30 was a little too easy IMO.x
Anonymous
Another classic, this megawad is a lot more detailed, polished, modern and varied that mm1. In fact it somehow stands between the classic mm1 feel and the more modern design of requiem. Some of the levels are trully outstanding, even if there were a few where I didn't like the gameplay. It's also IMO a lot tougher than both mm1 and requiem.x
Anonymous
Indeed a Classic, superb gameplay - 5 starsx
Anonymous
All aspects of this wad are better than in Memento Mori I IMO. The levels look better, still not perfect but better, it is even more fun, and the maps are bigger and more complex with more new textures than in Memento Mori I. I will give this a 5-star grade as this was absolutely outstanding for something released in 1996, is a big improvement over the already good predeseccor, and is still good even for today.x
Anonymous
this is defenetly one of the legendary wads out there! giving anything less than a 5 on this is a sinx

Awesome better then Memento Mori 1 IMHOx

One of the all-time 5 greatest, alongside its predecessor Memento Mori, Alien Vendetta, Requiem, and Hell Revealed. More high quality maps from an array of skilled authors. If you've played Memento Mori, you know what to expect. Perfect for co/op. A classic. --5/5x
