Description: This is a compilation of the WADs entered in NiGHTMARE's first speedmapping exercise. Participants were given 100 minutes to create a Doom 2 level on a certain theme. This week's theme was to create a human base set in an Arctic environment, using at least three of the new textures/flats.

A bunch of short, clever little firefights where you need to watch your health and ammo. Some monsters are skippable and there are a few HOMs, but overall the quality is great for 100 minutes. MAP05 sucks, absolutely idiotic music and about a billion monsters vs you with 50 bullets, I didn't even bother past the first room. Overall good fun except for that one level. 3/5x
This is not so badx
Map three is a trivial nothing and map four is not much better; and map six illustrates why so few levels have you fighting imps with a pistol (it's not fun). But the others are generally good. Map five is a giant scrap in the middle of a frozen wasteland and is the best of the lot. Maps one and two are short but sweet, and map seven is an undemanding finale. In general these speedmaps seem like good maps from 1995; only map six has stand-out bugs, with some missing textures.x
