Well no, not quite the release of the new Doom game, but skyJake has released version 1.7.0 of the Doomsday engine, along with JDoom 1.14.0, JHeretic 1.3.0 and JHexen 1.2.0. New in this version is a rewritten sound code, along with new configuration panels for the engine options and a newer and simplified process to start multiplayer games. He has also put together a zipfile containing all of the current Doomsday models.
Note: skyJake has uploaded a newer version of 1.7.0 that fixes some minor issues discovered in the original 1.7.0 release.
