    Dr Patch

    Julian

Fanatic released a patch for QDoom on his site. The file fixes \"the issue with no MP3 music\".

skyJake also released a patch available on JDoom\'s site. It upgrades the Doomsday engine from 1.01 to 1.01a, fixing some bugs in the engine.

It was an easy fix. :)

File music types, you specify a path, for example in QDOOM, it's looking for mp3 "map01.mp3".

Well in DDF, a is a comment character. So it was looking for "mp3". I just has to make a custom lump with mp3\map01.mp3.

You don't have the CD?? For shame... :)

The music greatly increases the experience, and you should DL it anyway. Or get the CD.

Hmm, now I wonder why the MP3's all play in mono. Something else to do with the problems getting MP3 working in EDGE I'll bet.

    It's a feature. :)

The MP3 lib we are using is limited (but free/GPL friendly), from what I understood last time I asked the same thing.

As long as it merges the channels instead of just cutting one out I'm fine with that.

I never said anything about JDOOM or MD2 models, what are you talking about?

Read the whole news update :-)

Unfortunately, it's not just a jDoom .ded-file that needs replacement. The current ZDoomGL models need some fixing as well. So I guess you (GuntherDW) need to wait a bit longer till SkyJake fixed those models.

    no? :)
Replacing of player sprites (HUD weapons) with MD2 models is now supported by the engine. I didn't set up the model definitions or the models for them yet, though.
