    Fragport Megawad Review

    The Doom Wad Station has posted a review of Fragport, a 32-level megawad for Doom 2 which uses batch files to expand the compatibility with various source ports. To anyone who bristles when we use to word "port" to describe a Doom engine mod, I hope you realize we do this only through tradition, and yes, we realize it is a bastardization of well-established technical language, and no, we're not sorry. Anyways, the megawad apparently has new sounds and musics and things, go read the review.

    well see, the original sources were the linux version, so that's a port of the original dos version, and then the linux version was ported to dos (and later windows), so they kinda are ports. or ports of ports. or something.

    To clear this up, it can run with the following:

    doom2.exe, Boom/prBoom and ZDoom. (there are source-port only versions of map 07 and 15 included as well)

    You can run it with other ports, but you won't get the timer on the last map.

    i dont get it is this an update to the fragport wad? it ran great before it never crashed nor did it ever lock up on sp, but on mp coop on a lan with zdoom, it keeked out hardccore on some tech levels as well as the hellish ones...i geuss its just zdoom netcode...oh well i farted

    It's not an update, I requested it be reviewed on the site and so it did. I've never tested it on multiplayer so I wouldn't know what was causing it. But you're probably right, it's probably something to do with net games...btw there's only 2 player starts in each map (for splitscreen 2P Legacy) - were you trying to play with more than that?

    ya i only played it with me and another...ya fragport rocks i love the hole jail break idea for the first level it would be neat to see more of those..
