    New JDoom

    Version 0.82 of the 3d-accelerated and very cool source port JDoom has been released. What's new in this version? Cutty pasty:

    • menu text disappearance fixed
    • higher mouse sensitivity upper limit in the mouse options menu (up to 40 now)
    • multi-level demos possible (demo playback/recording won't stop at level changes)
    • nextwpn/prevwpn were being confused with saving/loading
    • glBSP support added
    • switches and sky fixed in Ultimate Doom
    • cvar zclip: moving under/over things, monster melee attacks w/height check (not in demos/netgames)
    • cvar jumpPower (not in netgames)
    • red pain filter always a bit translucent
    • -plutonia and -tnt override options
    • -iwad option (also prevents autodetection)
    • random sound at exit removed
    • cvar autoswitch: weapon autoswitch at pickup (not available in demos/netgames)

    Remember that the author Jaakko Keränen is leaving for the army July 3! Hurry Jaakko! 1.0!

    i just wish it would run at a decent frame rate for me instead of the usual 2-4 FPS that i usually get with files like these and zanzan. damn 3dfx cards!

    My Win95/Voodoo2 system was even worse! Maybe one frame every 2 seconds!!!! I updated to DirectX 7.0, changed to a generic 3dfx OpenGL driver, and viola - playable frame rates. Only trouble is, it looks like crap! The colours are all washout. Anyone got any ideas? Sparky

    Sorry, im kinda new in this, but i tried most of the Doom ports and JDoom is by far the coolest... But why does everyone worship GL Doom?? IF it works, it looks like <sorry> crap... I dont need no badly done MD2 cannonfodder... I mean HEY, its DOOM! And this 3D Stuff doesnt have any resemblence to the old spirit.

    Someone have problems with the plasma gun?... in this release when I pick up the Plasma gun, the sprite of the weapon looks ugly, the rest of the weapons looks fine... in the previus release I don't have this problem... (Sorry for the bad english)

    I did understand a bit of that. However I fail to see what I have done to provoke such a exclamation. All I did was make a bad joke which I thought should offend no-one. I merely pointed out that Pikoro's English wasn't as nearly bad as he seemed to believe it may have been. So then, my friend:
