    SGDQ 2014: Doomguy Sans Frontières

    dew

The chaps from Speed Demos Archive are back with another speedrunning marathon! This time it's called Summer Games Done Quick and the seven-day event will be held on June 22-28. As usual, they'll be raising donations and this time the benefiting party will be the international disease fighters Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). And of course, Doom is returning once again. On previous occasions, Kubelwagon did speedruns of Doom, Doom 2 and Chex Quest, then Dime added Plutonia, after which he raced Vortale in Doom 2.

This time, Dime and Kubelwagon collide to face off in an Ultimate Doom race held on June 27th. We expect a sudden massive drop of interest in the football World Cup. Earlier that day, you can also watch peaches_ battle through Doom 64. He will hold a special donation incentive for bumping the difficulty skill to Watch Me Die. What better cause can you have to get some crazy selfless doctors a few more medkits and soulspheres!

Simply follow Dime's instructions to watch the show:

Watching and joining in on the action is easy! Just head to the Speed Demos Archive website or the Games Done Quick homepage on June 27th, at [find your local time here]! An embedded video player, a chat window, and directions for how to donate will be right there on the page. It's as simple as that! So mark your calendar, and don't miss a second.

There's also going to be a French re-stream this time.

    with saves again? :(

They only have small window for their speedrun, they can't sit there and grind a WR SS.

Yeah, I don't blame them for playing with saves, I understand that there is big pressure, that they have very limited time to do their speedruns, that it must be entertaining enough for the public to watch, etc. Just saying that for me unfortunately it kills the interest almost completely. If they played with just restarting the level allowed, that would be awesome.
