I think the "author" of QDOOM would have a pretty predictable perspective on the appropriation of other people's resources for one's own project.

This comment is directed to the person who posted the first message. Although I kinda get your point about Fanatic on QDoom, I think you missed his point. He not saying that this guy isn't a theif, I think he was just saying don't be to quick to judge, until you find out if it was just a mistake or if it was intended on his part. Also, have you played Birdman's levels? If so, have you written him any letters? Or have you just been complaining like so many others? Do you really care? If so, I'd say take it up with the man himself.

It just means we can take over the world faster than if we were to do it on our own ;-)

A few clarifications are needed, I see.

This comment system is, sort off, moderated. Messages and user accounts can be deleted, especially those "they suck" one-liners from anonymous users that pop up here and there. Obvious trolls and needless flames can also fall victim to my happy trigger finger.

Latest victim is Jon. I don't like being called 'gestapo' by some snotty kid, even if the reasons he gave for that were correct... which they are not:

• Two of our hosted sites were cmod'd 000 (temporarily shut down) by Doomworld's host Telefragged because of banner problems. Not my decision, but Telefragged's.
• I haven't contacted birdman's ISP because he has put up a 'credits' page of sorts. I would have if he hadn't, like I warned him before. This affair is closed, but I still see people flaming this guy for something he has remedied.

Freedom of speech? Andrew and me can do pretty much anything we want, since this is our site. That includes having our own choice in what we deem fit to post, or removing certain comments. Don't like that? Feel free to post your thoughts on your own site.

Yeah. They've put a lot of work into their site, and I think they've earned the right to decide what's fit and what's not for viewing on these threads!! :-b

Oh yes, I pretty much agree with what Fanatic said. Those were some rational comments. He wasn't hot-headed. I believe it's up to the authors of the WADs in which he stole resources from to make a big fuss, not the rest of us. :-b

Odd. I wrote a post stating that I agreed with Mordeth on most of his points and that as long as prominent people in the community recognize that they are highly visible and have "clout" among the community's members, there shouldn't be any problems with censorship anywhere. Mordeth deleted it.

Anyone have any guesses as to what the Doomworld crew is smoking?

I've talked to Mord about reasons behind censoring posts and he's given pretty good reasons for his actions. I trust his judgement.
