Three new WAD files to feast upon this week, as we open another chapter of the ever-lasting quest to acknowledge the new things found in Newstuff.
- Mystic1 by Andy Mckie - - Another continuation in the series of three-dimensional deathmatch maps. One map for Doom 2. This one has a very simple theme. A silver-metal three-floor deathmatch arena, with a black backdrop. Weapons and items are spread around the small map, with a megasphere on a pedestal in the middle, relatively easy to access. It seems like something people would get bored with rather quickly. Requires Doom Legacy.
- Ask Questions Later by Alejandro Duque - - One single-player map for Ultimate DOOM, E1M1. A rather large map, themed somewhat similar to E2M6 and E2M7 of DOOM, with an indoor/outdoor computer base feel. About the same amount of detail that the original DOOM presents, maybe a little more. The map isn\'t all that difficult, although it can take a short while to obtain a useful weapon.
- Mystic Keep by Pritesh Mistry - - A single-player map for Heretic, running on E3M8. This has quite a bit of classic Heretic feel to it. This rather large map is made up mostly of rooms and corridors. A few misaligned textures and not much detail, although it doesn\'t take much away from the experience. The author recommends cooperative play for this map, although it isn\'t too terribly difficulty on skill 4, single player, although it is a challenge. There are a few minor puzzles to solve, similar to the original Heretic maps. Enhanced Heretic port recommended.
