    ZDoomGL v0.4 Released

    Mordeth

A new beta version of Michael Ryssen's OpenGL ZDoom engine has been released. Based on ZDoom v1.22 it currently has the ability to add dynamic ligthing to any state of any items, lots of optimisations and bug fixes plus 3Dfx MiniGL and FOV support. You'll still need a regular installation of ZDoom before running ZDoomGL. As usual, you can find both mirrored at our source port section.

That means we don't have to use 3dfx's -crappy-assed- opengl drivers.

Does anyone else have that running ZdoomGL completely fux0res their display settings (resets refreshrate to 60hz, changes screen boundaries), which can then only be fixed by reinstalling the video card drivers? I've had this since the earliest versions of ZdoomGL (never with DoomGL) and was hoping it would be fixed at some point. I'm on a voodoo3 btw.

Aardappel - yes, but I have a Matrox Millenium 2 (and a Voodoo card). Running ZdoomGL does not affect the Voodoo settings at all, but it completely hoses my Matrox card's settings.(Weird) Not only that, but It screwed up my folder settings in Win95. I can no longer display large icons inside folders now. grrrrrr.

Daggah -what's with the link to your website? It seems to be broken. At least it doesn't work for me.

Hey, I've tried this new version and the dynamic lights are almost non existant!! Didn't have this problem with version 0.3. And as for working with minigl, it still doesn't work properly, sprites have black shadows on them. I've got voodoo2 SLI. Anyone else have this problem??

It works for me... But going there is a waste of time. I haven't updated since the 17th of December...just not enough time in the day these days.

It might've been down, too...I mean, I haven't been able to access my email the last few times I've tried it (for dagger@quakecity.net), but that was a while ago. I guess for the time being I don't really care much about the status of my webpage. :)

I have tried ZDoom and have nothing but problems, I have had to reformat my drive just to get things back to normal. (Big deal, that's what ghost is for, but still) I'm heading back to Doom Legacy, It works great, the GL Drivers are flawless and it looks soooo pretty... hehe weeeeeeee... look at the pretty lights! Ok, maybe too cafiene, sorry.. But still, if you haven't tried out Doom Legacy, I suggest you check it out! http://www.frag.com/doomlegacy =M00N+BaBy=

ZDoom is unstable as a load of dogs droppings... I will stick to Legacy. Its stable and pretty, and has split screen... MMmmm

... at least on my computer. On my computer, Legacy "is unstable as a load of dogs droppings... "

No further comments are necessary, I think.
