Sirjuddington has posted up a new version of the Doom editor Slade, now at 3.1.0. This is a major release; the program itself has had many new features and fixes added, and the map editor has had a substantial upgrade too, for example:

• Support for Doom, Hexen and UDMF format maps
• 'Split' game configuration system - just select a game and a port, no more long list of 'ZDoom + Doom 2', 'ZDoom + Doom 1' etc. configs
• Syncs up with the resource editor - changed a texture? it'll update in the map editor
• Nice looking, smoothly animated 2d map editor view

This week we will check out the brand new release Doomkid's Deathmatch 3! 12 brand new maps from Doomkid bundled along with retouched versions of 20 of his best, all in one wad file.

The chaps from Speed Demos Archive are back with another speedrunning marathon! This time it's called Summer Games Done Quick and the seven-day event will be held on June 22-28. As usual, they'll be raising donations and this time the benefiting party will be the international disease fighters Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). And of course, Doom is returning once again. On previous occasions, Kubelwagon did speedruns of Doom, Doom 2 and Chex Quest, then Dime added Plutonia, after which he raced Vortale in Doom 2.

This time, Dime and Kubelwagon collide to face off in an Ultimate Doom race held on June 27th. We expect a sudden massive drop of interest in the football World Cup. Earlier that day, you can also watch peaches_ battle through Doom 64. He will hold a special donation incentive for bumping the difficulty skill to Watch Me Die. What better cause can you have to get some crazy selfless doctors a few more medkits and soulspheres!

An old and popular Wolfenstein conversion from 1994 makes headlines today! Apparently this conversion was so popular and strange that it fell victim to CD copying multiple times. Another 11-map Wolf-themed wad will also be thrown on top to add to the fun.
