  1. When I accidentally clicked my submission instead of another map I'm working on, I noticed the start position is somewhere halfway in the map, totally not positioned right :S. Fixed that, new version here.

    Walking lights

Nevermind, got it working. Found some more help here: https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23165&hilit=light+Phased Turned out I needed to set the brightnesses different. How to get the light index box though, I can't figure out...

    Walking lights

I'm fidgeting around with this for a while now, and I can't get this to work. According to the link Dragonfly posted (thx for that), I could use either the light-Phased special, or the LightSequenceStart with Special 1 and 2. When using the former, I just can't find the Light index box, not in DB2, not in GZDoom Builder... When using the latter, it just doesn't work... The example WAD is broken when I open it. I've tried using game configs Boom, GZDoom (Hexen) and GZDoom (UDMF)... But probably I'm just immensely stupid :(

That sector special sounds promising, but the wikipage is not so informative as to how to use it...

    Walking lights

I'm searching/Googling like crazy, and it's probably because I just don't know how lights like this are called, so I'm taking the liberty of just popping the question here: How do I make "walking lights"? And with walking lights I mean a row of connecting sectors, that light up one after the other. When the light in one sector goes on, the light in the previous sector goes out. This way the light "moves" through the sector. Back in my Duke Nukem 3D building days, I used this effect all the time for e.g. rotating siren lights. Thanks!
  6. Mine could use one. The map is short, fast paced and jam packed with hell spawn. You have something that matches that?
  7. Stumbled upon this. The map's named "Shit 'n' Chips", referring to the combination of brown and tek/computer chip textures.
  8. I'm thinking about taking out about half of the enemies from my map, to make it easier / more accessible. Would that be worth the trouble?

[BETA RELEASE] Snack Sized 6 lvl mini mapset

Yeah. I think they are a bit too difficult as well. I'm hardly able to finish them myself without cheating. I'm thinking my next project will be less monsters, more atmosphere. Thx! I'll have a look at the demos to check out the bugs if I have the chance. Thanks for recording, much appreciated! Indeed maybe not totally original, but I'd always steered away from hellish and marble themes, playing save with the dull tech base theme. So this map was especially new for me. And I'm super happy with its tacky name :D. It did turn out not really being snack sized, this one. About the music: If all's well, the default midis will play. I haven't tinkered with this at all. I might try this sometimes in the future, but not for this wad, and since (composing) music is not really my thing, I might never. If no music is played at all, that'd be a bug.

Interesting. Map 06, Cacophony, should be your thing then :). If only it wasn't so annoying, hehe.

[BETA RELEASE] Snack Sized 6 lvl mini mapset

Yeah I kinda forgot why I turned the cacos around so dont see you. Was struggling with the gameplay on that one. But ill have a look at the space they have in prboom. This might be a problem in teleport traps in other maps as well... And of course its no prob the gameplay is not your thing - the whole mapset is an experiment - but still im wondering why :).

[BETA RELEASE] Snack Sized 6 lvl mini mapset

Check, fixed, thx. Fixed in the new version. I installed PrBoom+ and it opens/plays with it as it should. It was indeed a FIREMAG artefact, thx Walter, which I fixed in XWE. Please continue playing and testing! :)

[BETA RELEASE] Snack Sized 6 lvl mini mapset

Because I got quite a few nice replies to the initial screenshots, and none to the beta release, I'm thinking Monday morning is not the best time to release things... So I'm shamelessly bumbing this topic (sorry if that's against regulations). So @bioshockfan90, @Memfis, @Ryathaen, @Voltcom9, @Walter confetti and all others: Beta's out! Download it here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-PPJDxIdFxISG9WY3lOUFVOSTA Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
