Here is a Yahoo Geocities style page I am working on, I want to recreate the look of Geocities without the annoying ads. All I need now is Netscape icons and the blink tag and I am set! Yes I am serious.

This could be good, I am studying a heap of Geocities pages on oocities and I will be able to get the whole look down pat and make sure I do not use any css.

You use Notepad - anything more powerful is overkill.

I was going to come up with a witty comeback to this... but then I remembered I occasionally use Emacs to post to Twitter.

you forgot what made Geocities pages unique: the Geocities Pagebuilder. This awful kludge of an "application" (iirc it was an activex program or a java applet at first) was what users used to design their webpages. that's why pictures are always off a bit, scaling is off a bit, and text never seems to line up "just right".

I remember using it back in the day and it was pretty awful.

I was just going to mention that, Csonicgo. That lousy java app never worked correctly. No matter how much effort you make to align everything up perfectly, the results were always, sometimes dramatically, off.
