    Uac in dark ages?

I thought I had read all the codices in Eternal (at least in the base game), but I somehow missed on the time travel thing. I mean, I knew the 1 -> 2 -> 64 -> Sentinel Prime part of the timeline (as you yourself mentioned in the original post), but I didn't feel like it was ever explicitly stated that he had been sent back to a time "before" Doom 1 and 2.

    Uac in dark ages?

So it's been confirmed Doomguy canonically travels back in time relative to all the different universes? (This is a genuine question because I haven't yet seen that information one way or another. Apologies if I'm ignorant of something everyone else already knows.)

    ODENdude's Doom Forum

I'm gay. This is related to Doom because I put a LGBTQ secret in a map once.

Why doesn't anyone make a doom arg

Yeah, my reaction to the premise of this thread was basically "why the hell would you want someone trying to ruin Doom from a different vector, don't we have enough problems already?"

    What you think about GZdoom

GZDoom is the worst source port except for all the others.

"New year, new URE" - URE:E2 - E2M2 up (asterisk)

From the point of view of someone who hasn't really worried about vanilla limits in 25 years, it's always so fascinating to read about your travails with them (I hope this isn't coming across wrong!).

Putting lights right where their effectiveness will be drastically reduced by the surrounding architecture? Most UAC thing ever

PLAT1 looks really good there, fwiw.
  9. I love how the OP feels close to a Doom version of this classic Onion headline I think the analogy to the "is it okay to use the save function in Doom??" discourse is an apt one. (to be clear, I understand that roadworx's post is intended as satire)

    Save Scumming

No, it doesn't count. When you get to the Pearly Gates and St. Peter asks you how many Doom wads you completed in your life, you will need to shamefacedly answer zero, because you savescummed through all of them. seriously what are we doing here

Some thoughts on AI and the Doom Community

Someone in Discord just now had pretty much the perfect rebuttal to the asinine "printing press" analogy.

Some thoughts on AI and the Doom Community

The printing press was a way of achieving the relevant result (a given set of words on paper/parchment) more easily. The comparison would be valid if AI were simply a way to remove unnecessary friction from human creative expression. Perhaps someday there will be a tool that does that. GenAI in its current form, or any form that seems likely to be on the horizon, is not that, and I'll extend you the charity of not thinking you're stupid enough to believe it is.

Some thoughts on AI and the Doom Community

My anecdotal experience has been that there is a considerable degree of overlap between people who will vigorously defend the ensloppening of all creative work and human social interaction, and people who are reactionary garbage. It's not by any means 100%, mind you, but it's to where I'm like "yeah, that tracks" when someone manages to straddle both of those rails.

Exploring the Possibility of a Madness Combat-Inspired Doom Mod

You know those horror stories where someone gets replaced by an impostor and the original person has to watch in helpless terror as the impostor lives their life, being a better version of them than they could ever be? That's what it should feel like when you use AI as a front for basic social interaction with other humans. I'm not going to judge how strongly this actually applies to you since I haven't painstakingly analyzed your post to figure out which parts are AI and which might actually be you, and I likewise haven't gained access to your medical records to figure out all the ins and outs of your diagnosis. I am merely commenting on the hypothetical situation where this was actually the sort of thing you are doing.
