If there is one, i was unable to find. The download is even no Crispy Doom.app, it's just a terminal application, and i forgot to upload the crispy-doom-setup application, for configuring screen res, key mapping etc. If anybody wants it, i can upload that too.

These are standard 3.5“ floppies with a capacity of 1.44MB.

I lost my patience with the crushers, and idclipped them, after trying what felt like an eternity. There was always one of the crushers to low to pass it. :-D I got a tracking number for my standard box, but not for my Beast Box. And, the tracking says left seller facility, in transit to carrier since five days. I send them an email about it, and openend a support ticked. Hopefully i got some useful information. Let's be honest, the zero communication (from LGR) about the delays, and the chaotic mess of delivering the boxes from LRG is annoying. At least, forwarding my order to Romerogames worked flawless. I got a download within an hour.

These scanline overlays are easy to create, while a proper emulation of a shadow mask, used in CRTs is by far more complex. i guess some kind of dithering coded into the game could come closer, than just an overlay filter. Scanlines is more for emulation of console games or arcade cabinets. But even then a simple overlay doesn't fit really. It should emulate the typical interlacing of old gaming console stuff.

Scanlines were very common back in the early 90ies, when game consoles had an internal resolution lower than PAL/NTSC. PC Games like Doom had 320x200, which every CRT could handle. No need for Scanlines.

After forwarding my order, i got my download really fast. Thanks to Romero for that fast reaction, even though i have sent my mail in the very late evening, it must have been after midnight in Ireland. Now i have played the first three maps, on ITYTD for getting a feel for that mapset. I am not the best doom plyer in the world, though not unexperienced for playing it now since more than two decades. On ITYTD these three maps wasn't any challenge, so if anybody have the feeling this mapset ist too hard, he should play on lower dificulty levels. This is far from what Thy Flesh Consumed is on the first maps, regarding difficulty. I like it so far.

Nope, just one confirmation atm. I checked my orders, and for the standard box it shows the Asendia tracking number. For the beast box not. Guess they do not ship all boxes at once. Do I have to wait a little bit longer.

The first links says that both editions are shipped now, while it seems that nobody who ordered the beast box got any mail with the tracking information.

Mine is send via the same service, and tracking now works. Edit: At least Asendia is european, it is an joint venture between the french and the swiss postal service.

I was under the impression that I read somewhere European orders will be send from Europe too. But clearly the mail says USPS. The non working tracking could mean that the packages are registered at USPS, but not physical there. At least I know something like that from DHL in Germany. Tracking Numbers from USPS are pretty useless here too, because the tracking ends when the package hit the custom office. Everything after that is not trackball. At least it was when I got my last delivery from the us.

Got mail too. This is for the standard edition, no mail regarding the beast edition. And the tracking isn't working, which means that they haven't actually shipped. The items are shiped via USPS, so they come from the US, so it could take at least a week or more to somewhere in europe, from my experiences.

I have read it some years ago. Inferno was kind of interesting, but Purgatorio and Paradiso was boring, and a pain in the ass to read.

There are various retro style fps on the market or in the making, and you should look at them. If they are successful, or show some serious potential, none of them try to mimic the beginning of those 90ies fps. Instead they aim for the kind of games which where on the peak of the 90ies fps. Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake. These are the games where all the 90ies nostalgia came from, and there are reasons for that.

Regarding Arcane Dimensions i think while the mapping is brilliant, sometimes they go over the top with the enemy hordes and monster closets.

This picture does not compare to Dantes Inferno. In Inferno, hell is depicted as built in circles, each for one mortal sin, coming from the outer end to the most deadly sin, treachery, to the middle of hell, where on the center Satan resides in an frozen sea, chewing on the three arch betrayers, Cassius, Brutus and Judas. Limbo is in the outer region, there are the souls which are sinners without guilt, like Vergil a poet who lived in pre-christian times, who guided Dante through Limbo and Inferno. Slough of Despair should be the same as Limbo, at least it sounds like it. In Inferno, Limbo is a swamp where all the souls who can not go to heaven or hell wandering around. Hell Keep could be where Minos sort the souls by their sins. Dis is a city in hell, where the heretics are tortured. So much for my memories from reading the Divine Comedy.
