    Comfy Doom v2

I'm afraid your WAD didn't affect me; turns out I'm such a casual that I didn't even notice the difference...
  2. I've just gone through my posts on this forum and I feel it necessary to say...

if you knew me from then and were unfortunate enough to come across ANY of my posts... I owe you my absolute sincerest apologies for my astronomical stupidity, and am deeply sorry for any damage to your brain I may have caused from reading them.

On a completely unrelated note... is it possible to delete or change the name of my account on this forum?

I made retarded posts on the internet once. Then I did it again, and I never stopped.

Even though I have a similar join date as you I don't even remember seeing your username back then at all.

But welcome back to Doomworld. :)

Now make us maps, and let me take the credit for them.

    DOOM Retro v2.7.4 (updated November 4, 2018)

Random segfaults on the Linux build, after about a minute of play, can't get past the second room on e1m1

    1993res.wad [v3]

D'you think it would be a good idea to include resources that were included in doom wads but never used in the game? There are a bunch of sprites in the Doom 0.99 wad such as extra fireballs which were never used in the game (some of them were used in the press release beta).
  5. You should be able to rip it from this wad: http://deathz0r.slipgate.org/0_5resor.zip
  6. Sounds like the LoseThos guy has got on your computer...
  7. I'm sure Wolfram Tones could come up with something. All the slightly-off goodness of computer-generated music. It's actually surprisingly hard to try and compose something to that criteria. Everything I make either comes out too cheery or too random and shit sounding.
  8. I can't believe no one has mentioned Cube or Sauerbraten (cube 2) yet. Both have built-in level editors (you can run around the map and then jump straight into editing mode and edit the map in-game) and both - especially Cube 2 - are extremely intuitive. In Cube 2 all you need to do is point at a surface and use the mouse wheel to add or remove blocks, and you can shape the blocks as well to make the levels appear less square and cubic. The fact that it's all in-game allows people to edit a map together on an online server, which is pretty cool. Personally I have found it far more intuitive than either Doom or Quake mapping.

Least Memorable Maps in Ultimate DOOM

E3M4 was the first map that sprung to mind. In fact, most E4 maps as well.

    Skull switch texture question

Yeah, the texture has visible seams when you use texture filtering because of the way the edges of the textures are handled.

    Quick Wolfenstein anecdote

IIRC they were originally going to have fooling guards and wearing their uniforms after you kill them and things like that in it but decided that a pure action approach would be more fun.

    Let's make a MAD megawad.

I made you some horrible MIDIs. Perhaps you could use them for the maps in your wad. And a map. it's called "dezert" and you have to find ur way out of the dezert (the song "dezert.mid" is used for this level) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/41414190/oknazch00nz/nix0t.zip

    Good Uses for Bad Wads.

He had WADs before UACMN? Have you got any examples?
