    Pixel shaders and Doom

No problem, I understand how one would get annoyed by peoples general inability to do simple things correctly. I'll be good from now on, I promise :D Edit: btw, I appreciate the fact that people still exist who actually have the word "sorry" in their vocabulary. Generally people get pissed off way to easily in forums these days. So I hope we'll get along fine from now on :D

    Pixel shaders and Doom

Well, sorry. I didn't know. Can I do this myself and if so, how? I tried deleting my previous thread, but was not allowed to do so.

    Pixel shaders and Doom

Hi I was wondering. Will Doom III take advantage of pixel shaders to produce all that wonderful lighting? If so, will there be a difference in image quality from fx. a GF2 to a GF3 or will it primarily be a performance issue?

doom movie.. what do you think?

I'm not saying that first person perspective in movies is boring. I just think that an entire movie this way would be a little too much. But that's just up to individual taste I guess..

doom movie.. what do you think?

Not to mention that his "identical" twin with the exact same DNA looks nothing like him. What is up with that! Sorry I went OT, but that has always bothered me :)

doom movie.. what do you think?

Are you serious? I know that I wouldn't want to watch a 90 min movie only in first person. That would be boring and rule out the possibilities of some great action scenes, with the hero slaying scores of zombies and imps. I agree that you shouldn't see his face though, I don't think it would be possible to find an actor that everyone could accept as the doomguy. I hated that they showed the face of Judge Dredd in the movie.

    Doom 3 shipping with...

I think it would be a cool feature to be able to play the origial doom from a computer terminal within the actual game, Day of the Tentacle style. Although maybe it wouldn't really fit into the atmosphere of the game, but hey it was just a thought

    Dynamically breakable walls?

"They're coming out of the god damn walls!!" - Aliens :D

    Dynamically breakable walls?

Well, making everything breakable would just sort of ruin the fun, now wouldn't it :) Just rocket blasting your way through it all in a straight line from start to finish :P I think that only certain walls and other architecture should be breakable, but in a more dynamic way than seen in other games. I mean, you could break walls in duke3d, but if it's just something like that it's hardly worth mentioning

    Dynamically breakable walls?

First of all: Hi everybody "Blurring the lines between interactive objects and decoration does change the game. At one point in the demonstration, a buffalo-sized hound from Hell nearly broke through a solid wall trying to get at the player. Knowing that walls are now penetrable will change the way players progress" Reading the above statement in the MSNBC interview got me thinking: Will the environment be modifiable in such a way that monsters/players can actually break through walls and other objects in non pre-determined places? I mean, if they are not, it is not that revolutionary since it would just be scriptet, like in so many other games. Imo, it would be cool if objects such as walls, doors, pipes and so forth had some sort of "strength" attribute that determined how much force was necessary to break/bend it
