so... I graduated today.

   I turned 29 today, completely normal day. Won't be doing anything really different than normal. Work. Speaking of work, I got a new job about 6 months ago, and got the job bid for one of the best positions in the plant (they like me). Training has been going very well, as oddly running this automotive plastics line is a lot like machining. I'v been hearing through many people that the job is "complex" and "a lot to remember". It's been super fucking easy to learn so far, I'm on my second day and have a huge amount of the content learned already, but to be fair, my last job was kinda similar.

    The only thing that is fucking with me so far is using the micrometer on sample sheets for density checks, since it's plastic, the results you get very on hand strength. It's annoying as it's not even close to exact as using one on steel. Hopefully I don't step on anyones toes, but I need to look into Micrometers with a set resistance, I strongly feel this process should be better standardized. It's an old line, with people that have been working with the company for close or over 20 years. The more I learn and understand everything, the better idea I'll get on recommendations to improve the process. For the most part, job is cake as fuck.

My new music album is definitely finished composition-wise, and is about half finished in terms of final mixing and mastering.  The title of it is going to be "Dead Star", and it will continue the trend I started with "Waveforms" where it includes some trance, some EBM-ish tracks, and dark ambient songs.  Two of the songs already appeared in SoTNR's soundtrack, but in truth, they were written for this album before I decided to use them in SoTNR.

Tracklist with tentative order, and basic song descriptions in italics:

1. The Corax (dark ambient soundtracky thing, from SoTNR)
2. Cyber-Unit 629 (trance)
3. Rabio (EBM/industrial, the Esperanto word for "rabies")
4. Lenore (gothic industrial-ish)
5. Dead Star (ambient, from SoTNR)
6. Searching for My Identity (trance/Futurepop)
7. Snowy (ambient)
8. Back to Darkness (ambient)
9. In a Dream (trance)
10. Ĉarpentisto (retrowave-inspired, the Esperanto word for "Carpenter")
11. Forlasu Ĉian Esperon, Ĉiuj ke Enrius Ĉi Tien (ambient, "Abandon All Hope, Those Who Enter Here" in Esperanto)
12. The Internationale (Cover) (synthy cover of the theme song for socialism)

From the looks of it, the album will definitely be out by December 5th.  One nice thing about taking so long to make this one is that I managed to get a lot of the balancing/tweaking work I usually do at the end finished ahead of time.

I think as far as my music hobby goes, I'm start experimenting with chiptune stuff and more minimal DAW/synth setups after this.

Today is my birthday. I'm supposed to be 21 years old  responsible person(ha ha, nope). Time flies fast and I'm scared of getting old. Anyway, I'm happy that I'm still alive and still in this place ;)

Played through SNOTR, I want more of that.

ROTT progress report:

Birger Andreasen, the developer of WinROTT and WinROTTGL has kindly teamed up with me to bring true ROTT into EDGE, which is even better now because he is well versed with it :-)

Rise of the Triad: DARKWAR support in EDGE is making good progress! Someone wanna help write the DDF? I'd be forever grateful ^_^ screenies should follow tonight or tomorrow!

Also, EDGE 2.1.0 Test3 is releasing tonight with a huge amount of bug fixes, some new features, and better stability than Test2 :-)

So, it seems one year passed already when I first time registered here, in this forum. So many things changed in my life, starting from college stuff and ending with mapping preferences. I know, it's not big deal for other people, but for me it's big step. I still remember how I showed my first map to only get criticized. I'm not angry at this point, I feel it was good thing. I hope, next year will be nice too as this one ;)

Working with the Quake level editor trenchbroom has been a joy. It makes me wonder why it is that modern engines such as Unreal 4 and Unity have such terrible level editing tools :/

More mapping progress on the 4th map of my new WAD. Nearly burnt out on mapping for a bit so gonna do another play through of other wads to get some inspiration.
