What is a Dirac sea in layman's terms? I kinda understand it's a sea of negativly charged electrons that are packed together, and that electrons can have negative spin up and spin down energies. I also know Paul Dirac used his equation to predict the positron, the anti-particle for electrons. But, what exactly is this "sea"?
