  1. This is awesome... now what about Heretic and Hexen? What do I need to enable/disable to get the most accurate version of that?

  3. Where do you determine the proper CVARs for each IWAD? Having never played some of these games in their original form, I'm not sure which allowed crouching/jumping/whatever combination of settings...
  4. Yeah... looks like I haven't played Quake in a while. That demo made my last attempts look amateur hour. Forget about a first attempt!
  5. This is kind of the opposite of what I'm looking for. This disables all the graphic effects and engine fixes that the source ports give (like removing the infinite height from enemies and sprites) but leaves the gameplay settings to whatever they are in ZDoom. I'm looking for a way to play with all the graphical effects and engine fixes but without adding things like jumping, crouching, or FOV changes. I looked through the screenshot of the settings on the last page of that thread and I couldn't find the control/key settings anywhere.
  6. Absolutely not. The original games did not even include jumping so the original source ports restricted jumping as well.
  7. I'm specifically referring to the default IWADs for these games, not custom PWADs. I'm looking to play DooM/Heretic/Hexen as close as possible to the original games as far as the gameplay goes but I would like to use the updated visuals provided by these source ports. Since I've not played some of these games (Hexen, for example), I didn't know what functions are or are not allowed in the originals so I was hoping that ZDoom/GZDoom (way to be pedantic) had a switch that forced compatibility for gameplay. Unfortunately, it seems the only switch is to force original DooM compatibility and that doesn't really work for the others.

    Hexen Neural Texture Pack

    This is just a suggestion but I would suggest setting up the structure for ZDoom-style archives since it seems to be the more popular port. It's interesting to me that source ports haven't really standardized but I don't see any advantages to the Doomsday namespace as opposed to ZDoom's.

  11. I would love to see a video play through of that. I've attempted 3 or 4 times with just the axe to save up ammo in the shotgun and get killed as soon as the 2nd room opens up.
  12. They added a secret lightning gun. That was about all I could find after spending a few minutes running around, grabbing the key, opening a door and getting killed.
  13. Has anyone played these yet? How in the hell are you supposed to beat TBA143? By the time I get done with the first two rangers, I'm left with an axe only. I demand to see a video of someone beating this. lol

    MAP32 Secrets?

    I wanted to play through Freedoom to see what the status of the various maps are and was having a go at MAP32. I can't find any way to get all 8 secrets. I even opened the map up in a level editor to try and find all the secret sectors and I can only find 7 of them. What's the deal with this map?
