    Afaik, zdaemon also doesn't like mbf specific code pointers or whatever (for dehacked).

    I usually agree with you on many things but not on this. The way it is in rc1 imo is quite bullshit (way too fast, too many manc fireballs, too many repeated deaths :/). So yes, i'm completely for the nerf on this one :D

    Hmm. Man on the moon is the map i'm the most proud of as I've implemented everything i wanted to implement in it. It took me a while to get it out but, i think it was worth it in the end :D

Might take you a little while on a first try (1 hour ish) but, hopefully that is fine by you More info: Btw, it also recieved an honorable mention in this year's cacowards. But, that's just me shamelessly boasting :D Map is quite hard, difficulty settings are implemented of course.
  5. This looks really cool, good job on that. I'm affraid to be that guy but, seeing the screenshot that look like the maps could work in vanilla, why limit yourself to testing in zdoom? I think you should also test the wad in prboom+ at the least to make sure that you dont run into any issues. Then again, that doesnt take away your hard work at all, just a small nitpick of mine haha. Other than that, i love the classic feel these screenshots give, keep up the good work. Again, dont rush a release just cause of christmas, we are very understanding here ;)

    Honestly, im not gonna nominate eviternity, it doesn't deserve all the prais...who am i kidding? +++eviternity of course. Fantastic mapset from dragonfly and all the wonderful people involved. Fantastic work by ukiro too for his phenomenal texture pack.

    Cacowards 2018 - 25 Years of Doom

    Congrats to all the winners and runners up. I'm a little disapointed that "Tangerine nightmare" didn't make it some way or another but i guess the competition this year was really tough haha Congrats @antares031 for winning a cacoward with struggle, you most certainly deserve it for the effort alone :D I still need to finish it myself but yeah, from what ive played of it, it was really fun. Finally, thank you for mentioning me as a runners up, it means so much to me. Now, i will strive even further. Unfortunately, i have no plans (yet) on a potential sequel to MOTM considering i believe i've made what i wanted with this series but yeah, who knows haha. Anyhow, terrific cacowards this year :) Nice to see a few new faces on the writing team too.
  9. MAN ON THE MOON Might as well make it official (although, if you take a peek at the french doom community, it is already official haha). "Man on the Moon" is be the sequel to "travelling to the moon". This time, You've finally arrived on the moon after boarding the rocket ship (see "travelling to the moon") and I guess you are met with what you would expect from moon maps nowadays heh. This started off as an exercise really (about a month ago) and it slowly turned into the sequel that was going to come out eventually tbh. As far as map lenght and gameplay, this one will be quite different from the first one. It will feature more subtle (and not so subtle) traps, less arenas (something that was quite present in the first map i guess) and more setpieces. The map retains some of the features from the first one like the fact that you will still be able to grab the keys in any order and, some elements to link the two maps together (I already have a few ideas for that heh). (That didn't turn out quite as I expected it to turn out, but, there are some small callbacks ^^) The map features "new" textures taken right out of valiant's episode 5 (curtosy of skillsaw haha) and a few small, yet, useful (for the map that is) edits by yours trully. The current midi track is "Space jiggle" by stewboy (ancient aliens' map 16) and, while it is probably subject to change on the longrun, i find that it fits the mood just right heh. Yup, it changed. It has now been set to "Gutter penny" by alfonzo (found in map 10 of tht threnody). There will probably be an OGG track for mapinfo supported ports, just like "travelling to the moon I" (Still trying to find one as of today). The sky is from plum's impressive skystravaganza ^^ Finally, you may fight a dehacked boss at the end, who knows. This is why the title of the thread has the map listed as "cl9, maybe 11" depending on whether or not the boss will use the random codepointer or something. JCD is currently working on it, we've come across a few problems along the way but, I at least have an idea on what boss it will be :) There is indeed a dehacked boss to fight. For now, it is still quite early to say but, I would like to have it release on the 23rd of october to celebrate travmoon's first anniversary. This will highly depend on my motivation and/or work schedule (I'm gonna be quite busy starting september heh).   11. A secret that could not be opened? Huh? This is odd. I tested this multiple times in prboom+ and all and i could open all the secrets. Maybe an isolated incident, i dunno. But im pretty sure all secrets are accessible Anyhow, thank you for the demo. Will check later :D

    Regrettable things you did in your own older projects

    My first ever published map. An e1m8 remake for zdoom. I regret EVERYTHING about this map. Seeing it with my more experienced eyes, it is a POS. You are stuck with the shotgun for 3/4 of the map, there are scripts that work in an odd manner (not as intended of course), bland/empty rooms, barons you have to fight with your best weapon being a shotgun and to put insult to injury, they are placed BEFORE the pentagram shaped arena. An extremely linear design with a bunch of scripts that add absolutely NOTHING of value to the map and an overall boring experience. I don't recommend it haha Then again, it was nearly 8+ years ago so, it's only natural that you would look back at your first ever map and think: Holy fuck, did I really make this? This fucking sucks :( So yeah, granted, it does hold some sort of sentimental value considering it was my first ever published map (on idgames) but other than that, it's shit.

    Graphically beautiful wads or eye candies

    Ancient aliens, specifically maps 16 and 27 which are fucking awesome looking. Map 16 is also an epic adventure through different planets with your ship being a flying saucer. Really a stand out map imo. Valiant has cool looking maps too, the moon maps for example (map 28 in particular with its awesome lightbridge concept). Other than that, miasma is pretty rad looking.

    I'd never thought I'd say that one day but...Nothing. I'm actually working on nothing at the moment haha Well, that isn't exactly true as, I am working on a map for some project but, I can't say anything. (PS: The project in question isn't BTSX, I wish I would but haha, it's not). You'll have to wait and see :) Think I'll start some new personnal map in a few days (heck maybe tonight). Maybe that map will be a "from zero" approach to my previously cancelled "Fortress of misery". So yeah, that might be fun heh

  23. RC3 coming tomorrow. That fight took longer than expected haha. But, hopefully, it will be a nice little final (I quite like how it comes across so far). I only have a few little things here and there to do and, it will be good to go.
