    Finnaly finished my map, now I can start working on a map for this project. I actually already started working on a map but nothing much to show for the moment. It's going to be a zdoom compatible map. Map slot is 01 for the moment.

    [ZDoom] Undesired reality - Finished

    Ok guys, my map is done. (I'm not one to bump but I will make an exception in this case). Here is a mediafire link for now (I plan on uploading it to idgames in the future). http://www.mediafire.com/download/raehmy9b603vmlk/UNDESIRD.zip I've finnaly came up with a title ("Undesired reality") which I know sound a little generic but hey, it was the best I could do for the time being. This is version 1.0, acording to feedback and bug reports, it will be updated. Hope you enjoy the map and again sorry for bumping the thread. PS: The readme has been modified since I uploaded it to mediafire. The final readme will be included with the idgames link. The map has been tested with both zdoom's and gzdoom's recent versions(zdoom 2.7.1 and gzdoom 1.8.2) and also with the current SVNS. The map takes the e4m1 slot in Ultimate doom.   3. This is a map I have been working on for quite some time now and I am still working on it. It takes the E4M1 slot because it started as a sort of remake of the map however, while working on the map, I realised that there wasn't much to do with the map SO I decided to revamp it as a standalone map. It does however have a few areas that resemble E4M1 (the starting area) and it does have an area ressembling one of the many secrets of e2m5 (the plasma secret). The map has many of the KDIZD textures and some monsters from realm667. I decided not to use too many new monsters because let's face it, it doesnt look very nice if you do (well that is how I see it anyways) so that is why I decided to use most of the Ultimate doom roster. As A zdoom map, it uses quite alot of features (slopes, acs scripting, 3d floors, polyobjects, etc...) and it is being designed with the zdoom sourceport in mind so no gzdoom features in here. I want my map to work on both sourceports so I test my progress on both to see if there are any problems. I must say thought that it looks best on gzdoom. So far, the map is about 50%-60% done and unfortunately, progress has been very slow for the past few months. I do not plan to drop the project however since it would be a shame to waste all my time spent on it but what I'm trying to say is that I need time to think of new ideas and stuff so don't expect the map to be released anytime soon as I do not want to rush it. That being said, you may enjoy the few screenshots I have at my disposal and still tell me what you think so far. Finaly, the title is still a placeholder as I kinda suck at thinking of good titles ^^" Hope you enjoy what you see.     Nevermind, after a brief search, I found out you could set the script to activate on the current map regardless of which map slot you use. This can be achieved by setting the map value to 0 in the acs_execute action. Anyways, I guess i will just start my map on the map 01 slot.

    Just a little question, which slot should the level we make take? Should they all be map 01? This I guess can be important to know if you make maps that use scripts.

    Hmm, I guess I will give it a try. Never been part of a project but this one sounds interesting :) Although I will start once I'm done with a map of my own (Called pain and it is for zdoom). I don't like working on two many maps at the same time. The map I'm working on should be finished soon (hopefully by august) and then I guess I will start working on a map for this project. The rules seem fair and they do give us quite some freedom. I will try not to overuse "new" textures (I say "new" because I'm probably gonna end up using already exixsting textures). I will try and respect the deadline.

    Eternal doom? Nah just kiding, I do know eternal doom and hmm, I must say that it wasn't the first thing that came in mind when I designed the circular rooms. I just wanted them to not look bland. For example, I wanted the arena in the fourth shot to look destroyed and I tried my best to make it look convincing. For the arena in the last panel (third shot, bottom right corner) I really came out with the ceiling structure while working on the room. It wasn't planed to look like that but I guess once I was done with it I was quite pleased with the result and it actually looked better than expected. Nevertheless, if this makes you think of eternal doom, I guess it's a good thing ^^

    Which doom have you played through the most?

    I must say I played doom(the shareware version) alot when I was younger since my brother had found the shareware version of the game. Althought, Once we moved to our new flat, one of our friends gave us an old computer and that computer happened to have doom 2 installed on it and from that day, I just played a whole lot of the game as I didn't have the full version of teh first doom. So many good memories. I eventually bought the doom collector edition by finding it in a local shop(OK my mom bought it for me **). But anyways, it was doom 2 that I played the most.

    Just something I've been working on lately.     Making a new map (screencaps) - advise welcome [FINISHED]

    You do have some brilliant ideas in these screenshots, I must say ;) I especialy like the first screenshot of your marble area with the walls surronding the doors. This looks quite nice although you could find a way to align your textures a bit better(mostly visible in the 3rd screenshot). Otherwise, this looks great and I'm realy looking forward to the final piece ^^

    [Gzdoom]Daydream Hell - WIP

    Hello everybody, First of all let me start by saying it's been quite a long time since I last posted here and for those who don't know me well I'm the one that made "Phobos anomaly revisited". Was my first public wad and it recieved OK critics. Anyways, I'm not here to talk about my first wad but to introduce one of my recent project. The project is named "Daydream hell"(Title can be altered in the future) and it is a level for the GZDoom engine. The main theme of the level is as the title sugests, hell, but I will try to make it as original as possible. It may take a while thought as I am still trying out some new functions(Today, I just found out about the vertex slope and I must say that it makes pretty neat natural objects). Anyways, I will also try to keep in mind all the feedback that I had from my previous level and I hope to introduce a nice gameplay, which was kinda lacking in my first wad :( Anyways, here are a few screenshots of my work so far, hope you find them interesting ;) The screenies are in 1024x768 resolution so it might take a little time to load for slow computers. For the recources, I will be using textures from various sources as long as they stay in the hell theme. The music wich you can't hear obviously ** is D_TECU, a music that I found in zpack. This music was used in the "Terror cube" level and I found it to be quite fiting for this level ;) Credits will be given of course. Feel free to comment, give advice on how to improve parts that could be improved ;)
  12. Keep up the good work, this looks excelent and the new textures just look so pretty :) I'm looking forward for this ^^ Just a small question thought, maps will be in UDMF format but does this mean it will have a few GZDoom features or will it stay ZDoom only like the first one?

    Looks like a cool project, Hope it will not be abandonned :( Also, I think you will have to ask for permission to use some of the musics, I'm thinking of PL2 for example wich clearly stated in the TXT: "Authors may not use the recources included in this file as base for modifications or reuse" or something like that. Anyways, I'm looking forward for this ^^

    I have seen that my map was reviewed(yes, sorry I've seen it a bit late, got caught up with enrolement to university and stuff) and well i'd like to thank the reviewer for his work :) I'll try and take notice of what you said next time I do a map.

    Pcorf community project (fun and easy going)

    Looking good so far :) I'm also here to anounce that unfortunetly my map got wipped out of my hard drive after a silly handling I did and I tried everything to get it back but no success, I'm realy sorry, I might try and do another map but I'm afraid that the deadline is nearly aproching and I might not have much time but I will try ^^ My map was on slot 21 BTW, I don't know if the slot has been taken by now but if it has not well I might as well take the same slot again. If it has been taken then please tell me what slot is still available. Again I am sorry. EDIT:I just remembered, I once contributed a map for a project that never got finished and hum maybe I will take that map back and try and make it a bit better in terms of monster placement, etc... I don't think it will take much time to rework and well it is the least thing I can do :)

    Hi, hum, I wouldn't want to be a prick or anything but I think you are in the wrong section, "doom editing" would have been better. As for the class, hum, well I don't realy know since I have never done that :(. However, I'm shure that other members out there wil be able to help you better than me ^^
  20. Hello to all, this is a wad that I have been working for about one year(I just finished it today) and well I wanted to have your advices on it and all. This wad is, as the title sugests, a remake from the mission 8 of episode 1 from DOOM 1. I used zdoom features alot for this wad and I think the result is quite nice ;) New stuff included: -Monsters from realm667 -Textures from zpack and a few from nick baker. -Zdoom features as I said before(mostly slopes, sliding doors, elevators, scripts, ...)     Ok, thank you for the reply ^^ When I look at it closer, Maybe you are a bit right but realy what I meant by e1m8 remake was that you could see a few rooms from the original level(the dome, the star room, etc...).
