  2. Only just worked out how to enable these leet social media style status updates, so I'm gonna start writing out a constantly updated massive wall of crap about random wads i play in here, because why not (unless i get told off by a mod for constantly pinging their server to update my shit)

    One.wad - spent 15 minutes waiting for lifts, died to a slow crusher, marveled at the blocks of barons and the iwad copy pasting. Pretty impressive size for something made in 1997 though 

    Mapping contest maps.. Some really damn good maps in here. Personally i felt like scottys was the best by a pretty long way, but im biased. ADs map was more appealing to me than the winning entry, but its not about the winning, its the taking part that counts etc :D

    Sucker Punch 2 -  Great little set of quick fun maps, colour coded for difficulty. Personally found the green maps to be harder than the yellow/red ones due to abundance of hitscan and little health, but ymmv. One of the best things ive played all year. 

    Stimulants - Played on stream due to scotty requesting i do so.. All i can say is that i really really dislike shotgunners. 

    Tarnsmans Projectile Hell - played E1 of the first beta with a few people on stream, taking it in turns to work our way through episodes. Ran into pretty serious ammo issues in a few maps, probably due to not finding secrets. Lots of shotgun vs midtier gameplay, although that is to be expected from e1. Lots of hitscan placed on ledges made progress pretty slow going. Felt like the mod aspect couldve been taken further.. usually i dont care much for mods, but felt like i wanted more cool weapons to fuck about with. Will probably revisit this one when it hits idgames

    No Title - Very cool little galileo map, with a few spicy fights building up to a pretty rude rev swarm at the end... where you have to kill viles and let the revs live due to ammo constraints. 

    Yugiboy's Moon Series - Extremely cool skillsaw-style moon episode, a large step up in many ways from the usual standard of content posted on dw nowadays. Verging on full slaughter in places, lots of tight plasma based fights against pits of hitscan the player gets dropped into at point blank. Definitely cacoward-worthy if yugi pulls his finger out and compiles them all in time :D

  3. I hereby declare that I retire from doom mapping. I just can't be bothered anymore and I much rather spend my free time playing better games like "call of duty" for example. 

    All my ongoing projects are therefor cancelled and no one will have links to take over them. They will forever stay in oblivion on my harddrive. 

    It's been fun.

  7. Here is my unfinished DWMP17 map that I started a few months earlier. I just don't have the time to work on it anymore (Irl stuff + one other map that I want to give most of my free time on) and thus, I decided to just call it quits and give it to anyone who would like to work on it.

    You are free to do whatever you want with this, just make sure to credit me I guess heh. 

    It's for UDMF and well, there's nothing much else to say about it heh.

  9. Scythe 2, map32: this switch just doesn't work in GL/PRBoom+ for whatever reason. Using Doom v1.9 for compat, which should be correct.

  11. Expanded my DWMP16 map (slightly) in the hopes of someday, getting out a little mappack that would feature about 3 additionnal maps in the same style. This idea came to mind the other day and since I the current public version (the dwmp16) does not have any difficulty settings and all, I thought it would be a good opportunity to re-release it alongside a few other maps of the same style heh

     

    This has no release date yet obviously, it has been in my mind for a while though (to release the map with proper difficulty settings and all). 

    For now, here is a shot of what I did yesterday.

  12. So there's a possibility that my Bijou Doom megawad will be rejected because it still hasn't been updated to Idgames archives(been 6 days already). I think it have something to do with having a Yahoo email because I already replied twice so maybe the idgames Maintainers just CAN'T get a reply from my email.

     

    Has anyone had this issue when they first started this email verification process?

      Patience. It can take time to have wads accepted on the archives. 6 days is not that long. 

      Although, I do remember something about yahoo email in the uploading rules.

      Yeah, A little. I pretty much merged parts 1 and 2 together so that it is only one map now. I did cut the section leading to the circular arena though. I just need to get back at it and finish it cause it's kinda rotting on my drive right now haha

  16. Drawing stuff on paper really helps heh. Just got about 2 zones from my map done (the general shape at least) in the last 2-3 days when it would have taken me weeks if i haden't drawn them before :)

  20. So apparently map 04 and 05 for Cursed got corrupted or something. I have no idea why, probably because I never finished updating them from Boom to Zdoom format. Oh well.

      Also, don't use "zdoom(doom in hexen format)", it is extremely outdated. If you want your map to be zdoom, either use zdoom(doom in doom format) or UDMF (the prefered format for zdoom/gzdoom maps nowadays) :D

      DB2 should generate backup files. If you haven't deleted these (.backupX, where "X" is a number from 1 to 3, both included), you could always take the one before the shift and just replace the ".backup" extension with ".wad". 

      This should work. If you deleted the backups though, I'm afraid it is lost heh.

      Yeah, i know bout the yk section being superior. I tried my best to balance the map and all and i kinda went crazy for that section. 

       

      The pg is mainly here for the SM and well, there are other hordes to deal with. I have indeed seen many people take that route first and i can understand why heh. It is kinda kinda late to make changes to the map though considering it's on the archives and franckly, i dont wanna work on that map anymore haha. 

       

      It was really my first serious attempt at making a non linear map and, i think it turned out quite well all things considering. But, i do understand your concerns and will keep them in mind next time i make a map like that :) 

       

      The map did go through several rcs before hitting the archives and well, once i thought i was really done with it. I said what the hell haha
