This is on my 'To play' list. I'll bump it to the top and provide a run sometime this month. Work got very short staffed and I'm working more than I have as of late. Someone should make note of the potential soft lock on Map 14 it seems.

The DWIronman League dies to: Jägermörder 1 & 2!
ClumsyCryptid replied to NaZa's topic in WAD Discussion
Alright linked below is my attempt. I have no clue whether or not this still counts as blind or not but I haven't submitted the run to the board because of sound issues. Sound was set to SDL and not FluidSynth leading to a very interesting PC sound emulation; very unpleasant and not fun.. like listening to Commander Keen sounds played backwards over a tape recorder through a chipmunk. With that said.. not the whole map is blind, just up to and little past the red key and red door. The last bit of Map 1 was tense those barons and low health. Very tense, had stopped breathing to focus. Died 15 kills into the second map, bad spots to stand on the chaingunner elevator and not using the chaingun screwed me in the trap after that second. I like how Map 2 starts and I'll be playing that on my own. Edit: Blend of Cat 1 and 2. 95 kills -

Okay, I assure you that I'll have a run submitted.. once I figure out why any installation of PrBoom is causing the sounds to sound like it's being filtered through a chipmunk. I'll have time for this in two days. -
Oh boy Syringe, I'll get around to sharing my attempt later this week. Trying to do an ironman run during the work week is too much for me. I have played this before because it's one of the downloadable maps for the weird Unity Doom port, but it hasn't been recent. Past year or two?

Damn, thought you'd get further. E1M9, E1M4 and E1M6 are my favorite maps for this set. -

I personally go for the 100% kills because it's satisfying, to me, to clear a level of all opposition. I will say that doing the challenge at your own pace is recommended, whether it's murdering everything or getting through the fastest. I've been told in the past that time is usually held higher in scoring, but I am not sure if that matters anymore. Surviving is first and foremost the goal, the steps you follow to achieve that is up to you. Edit: To @NaZa thank you for the kind words. I do want to participate more in Ironman this year and see if I can push myself closer to the top of the leaderboard. I've progressed a lot over the years in terms of personal skill. I think playing maps here and there casually with or without Corruption Cards has heightened my prowess to expect the unexpected in normal gameplay. That and watching Coincident and Decino on Youtube has given me an informative grasp on how better skilled than I people play the games. -

Cat 2, I guess? E1M8 got me, even predicted my own death.. practice run for a prepared run that I will do when I am not tired and looping between consciousness and sleepiness. I think I did fairly good, narrowly escaped a few deaths here and there. I have played this before and it stuck with me, mostly the secrets and whatnot. After this I'll do a second run, but for the prepared leaderboard, hopefully won't take almost two hours. This is a long video to watch... Oh, and playing on PrBoom for the first time, not used to the quirky classic controls, lost time due to pressing 'e' instead of 'space bar' and the like.. and trying to sector hop... and trying to unrust SR50 for a little bit. Video below should be available once it's done uploading. Internet has been acting up as of late so have to use the slower speeds provided by my phone to upload, should be done within a hour of this post. -
[UDMF] WMC04: Heresy RC1 (8 maps for Heretic)
ClumsyCryptid replied to Endless's topic in WADs & Mods
This is sort of minor, but jumping is enabled on E1M7. The rest of the levels have jumping disabled. There's no part of E1M7 that looks like it requires jumping. -

I've managed to beat you, but not in a good way. Category: 1 Died on: Map 01 Kills: 3/35 Time: 0:23 (I show automap in video and it's at 0:33 about 10 seconds after I died) What happened? My mouse got stuck on my desk and I knocked over my drink and since I couldn't pause I tried to mop up my drink quick enough to continue, but couldn't find a safe cubbyhole. I'll play through this casually however. -

Long time, no contribution. I played this in the last year or two. Got nailed on Map 4 due to an archvile and a poor attempt at hiding. Category 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13TEuUgQBkg -
Decent "first map material", but not something I'd personally flaunt around as something to be particularly proud of.. Not really much to go off of since it's a bunch of boxes stuck together with hallways. Interesting use of the grey brick textures.. and why the secret exit?

what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.
ClumsyCryptid replied to everennui's topic in WAD Discussion
So, back to mapping, and focusing on a heretic map. Just a couple of "highlights". First picture is of the start of the map and an introduction to a new monster, it is from Realm667, and one of the weaker ones. The rest are other parts of the level, various stages of functioning or in the process of being reworked. Using a Heretic II texture pack as well. -
If you're looking for inspiration for a Elder Scrolls-like game/story done in the Doom Engine then I recommend Serpent Resurrection. It can be downloaded here, https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/hexen/s-u/serpent
