    Ideas for Weapon/Monster Balance Changes

They're terrifying with -fast behavior, they just need a movement increase.

    Ideas for Weapon/Monster Balance Changes

Your ideas would make for an interesting mod. I too thought the shotgun should fire 10 pellets instead of 7 to make the SSG's 20 seem more consistent.

    what religion do you believe?

The one that involves not feeling sorry about being a flawed human being and/or feeling bad about things that occurred before I even knew what existence was. I'm sort of agnostic but really only the idea that there may be more to it all than we know now, but not really any specific things like a higher being or a special place we go to. And to me, all human religions are a scam, nobody knows what they're talking about or have any irrefutable evidence to their claims, but give them lots of money for the cause anyway.

most emotional parts of Doom 64?

They censored MK on SNES but had a game called Doom Troopers that had everything from heads getting blown off, enemies' guts falling out, and blood splattering everywhere from machine gun fire and explosions. Nice double standard there Nintendo. It also was rated T.

    Favorite Soda?

I try to stay away from the stuff these days, it's just water with carbonation and sugar. Take the sugar away and revel in how bland and nasty it tastes. Also, if you're trying to lose weight, drop the soda, you'd be surprised at how much weight you lose from that alone. That said, I sometimes have a can of root beer, once in a blue moon anyway.

most emotional parts of Doom 64?

Thank fuck for that remaster of Turok 2 on the way, because the PC port in my experience was impossible to run the single player executable even with the fan fixes supplied on Win 10. I read that something weird happens on 64-bit OSes involving an older version of what would become securom buried in the executable triggering itself on a 64-bit OS even after you cracked the executable (claimed it couldn't find the CD). I can't remember the exact details but I just know it refused to run last time. And when I could run it via nglide it didn't even go into full screen properly. It worked on my Win 7 32-bit though.

What's the best song in a WAD you've ever heard?

Whatever the track is called on Memento Mori II's first level, it's also featured for the second level in Sector 666. It's really awesome sounding, presumably Mark Klem's.

most emotional parts of Doom 64?

I could best describe D64's atmosphere as being 'suffocating' and 'oppressive' throughout the game. Only the first 10 levels or so were set in a base/facility whereas the rest was in hell, or something equivalent to it. It's pretty interesting how, like Doom 3, that D64 got more popular within the last few years as opposed to their debut.

How about a top ten worst FPS?

That's not really true, while the outdoor maps are pretty big and empty there's a lot of big levels that are fleshed out with places to visit and explore. There's also a lot of FX and small details and some interesting level setpieces that involve engine capabilities or at least features that weren't shown in a shooter before. Definitely a better engine than HL's modified GoldSrc, which while HL has a lot more going on than say id's Quake II, isn't as convincing today with its attempts at real world settings or realistic enemy behavior (it still has game-isms and odd progression and stupid bugs but not as offensive or game breaking as Blood II's). Also don't really think the AI in Unreal was bad either, at least the Skaarj weren't committing suicide like the HECU with their grenades. Admittedly Krall and Mercenaries weren't the best fighters but they rarely did something strange. Never played Rune yet but for UE1 Deus Ex is pretty friggin' ugly, color scheme and environment-wise, I know it's meant to be dark and depressing but it's certainly not as flashy as Unreal. It makes up for the lack of visual fidelity with the rich universe and interactivity though. Might not want to count on Steam reviews for total accuracy on a product, as it currently stands DNF is 'mixed' I think it was 'positive' last time. The game Hatred last I checked was at 'mostly positive' but most of the positive reviews weren't very serious in tone and more just people who want to see SJWs get mad rather than if the game is any good (newsflash it wasn't).

How about a top ten worst FPS?

I tried that Extra Crispy mod a while back after my excruciating Suicide run of the vanilla game and I didn't really like it. It seemed too over-engineered and like they were trying to sugarcoat a turd. I know I did like DarkAct once, as it had some features exclusive to it that were pretty cool, like limb removal. But nothing made for B2 is perfect, much like the game. There wasn't enough variation in the level design really, the modern aesthetic dominated 90% of the game, with the only really interesting environments reminiscent of the original game being at the very end. There's some seriously strange level progression though, like a part where you go through a small apartment, reach the street, enter a diner, destroy the kitchen and somehow go into a restroom at a subway station. Yeeaaah, what were they thinking?

It's funny, because you'd think killing demons would be the most Christian thing you can do. But alas, thou shall not shotgun the Imp.

How about a top ten worst FPS?

That's why he isn't relevant anymore, and why the humor in 2011 was so outdated (many kids today just aren't going to get the 90s and even 80s refs in there, it's sad but true). That DLC started interesting but got quickly and tragically bad. It was like they were too afraid to try anything interesting or remotely oldschool in the gameplay department and continued the tropes of the base game, as in everything wrong with DNF; linear level design, fetch quests, mini-games, driving, boring bosses etc. May as well be, the regen health and poor/weak health to begin with encourages hiding vs. movement management. Actually that trailer is very scripted, see here: https://forums.duke4.net/topic/4164-dnf-2001-breakdown/ While it made my top ten list of worst FPSes and having gone though it myself late last year I don't think it's the worst game ever but it's definitely a bad game with mediocre shooting, which is the least offensive thing about it and the only thing I found some enjoyment in at times. I don't understand the twelve or so people on earth who actually like DNF, but then again they're probably those same twelve that actually liked ACM. With that said just don't get mad at me for my guilty pleasures like Blood II or you'll be a hypocrite for putting down one piece of trash and defending another.

How about a top ten worst FPS?

It's very bad indeed, it's not an FPS though. There is modding though, since the late 90 and to this very day. If Doom made it so high on your list then why are you on this site? Everything you listed there you can completely ignore and focus on playing the stuff you like. I don't care for most of the stuff that's made for G/ZDoom, but that doesn't mean there isn't a metric fuckton of vanilla maps for me to enjoy. I think he does.

The first time I encountered the radsuit damaging floor was in Number One Kill: The Next Generation, there's a part in a later level where you go through a slime maze of sorts, and the floor will damage you through the radsuit a good 5 or 6 times, which goes to show how long that area lasts to get through.

The 20% damaging floor that randomly eats through a radsuit, fun times.

what game (besides doom) are you playing?

Finishing Quake 4 today, was a very decent ride for what it is, I like it more than Quake II in that regard, but IMO nothing tops the original. Starting on Unreal II after shortly, just going in with no expectations and maybe it'll be decent enough on its own terms. It does look nice at least, but presentation is very different from the first. E: Scratch that Unreal II sucks, I'm doing BloodRayne instead, it's been I don't know how many years since I last played it on the PS2, doing the PC version on GOG and it seems to be as decent as I remember it being so far.

UNLOVED turns into a real game

I'm late to the party but as a huge fan of the original GZDoom mod's levels, atmosphere, music, and story, which was extremely dark IMO and could be interpreted in a number of ways, I really hope this lives up to it somehow. I avoid early access titles, but I'm very impressed this is all on his own. That silenced mini UZI looks out of place though.

Why doesn't Doom 64 have dynamic lights for weapons?

Don't want to jack the thread but I've always wondered why Quake II on N64 is the only version of the game with muzzle flashes added to the weapons.

    Your first Doom experience..

10 years old with a newly acquired Windows 98 (my first computer) in 1999, had access to a Games for Windows 95 CD that featured the Doom shareware. Easily the best thing on the entire disc. Played with keyboard on ITYTD, didn't know how to run or strafe, just walk, turn, use and shoot. Oh and save the game every few minutes and panic every time my health goes below 80 (that nosebleed seemed terrifying as did the Doomguy's face in the self-running demos as it slowly devolved into raw hamburger). Remember being in awe of the Barons of Hell and the game's violence, atmosphere and music like E1M3, E1M5 and E1M7 and E1M8 being really dark and scary unlike Hexen, my first FPS prior to Doom.

what game (besides doom) are you playing?

The voice acting is really unnecessary and badly done. Then an unskippable cutscene in a game with no cutscenes comes halfway through to stop me dead in my tracks (but lets me manipulate my character with the mouse) right before the space marines rip me a new one. Garbo. Yeah, I love the base game's ending, it reminds me of The Thing, nihilistic. Not as bleak as The Thing, since there's some sentiment of hope, but it's similar. E: WTF that ending.

Yeah, can see why they were cut. Pack Hunters are BS.
